Abstract
Askariasis merupakan salah satu infeksi cacing yang prevalensinya cukup tinggi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya daya antihelmintik ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) terhadap cacing Ascaris suum secara in vitro dan untuk mengetahui lethal concenteration 100 (LC 100) serta lethal time 100 (LT 100) dari ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan penelitian post test only control group design. Subjek penelitian berupa Ascaris suum yang masih hidup dan aktif bergerak, diambil dari usus halus babi yang terinfeksi. Sampel terbagi dalam lima kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kontrol negatif (FBS 1%), kontrol positif (pirantel pamoat 1%) dan kelompok dalam tiga konsenterasi, yaitu 20%, 30% dan 40%. Data yang diperoleh diuji statistik dengan metode analisis probit menggunakan program Minitab 16. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa sebaran data normal (p>0,05), hasil analisis probit menunjukan bahwa lethal concenteration 100 (LC 100) pada ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu dapat membunuh cacing Ascaris suum sebanyak 39,07% sedangkan lethal time 100 (LT 100) ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu adalah 9 jam 53 menit. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) memiliki daya antihelmintik terhadap cacing Ascaris suum.
English Abstract
Ascariasis is one of worm infection with high prevalence in Indonesia. The aims of this study were to determine the anthelmintic effect of noni fruit (Morinda citrifolia) for Ascaris suum in vitro and and to identify the lethal concentration 100 (LC 100 ) and lethal time 100 (LT 100 ) toward noni fruit ethanol extract. This study was an experimental laboratory study with post only controlled group design. The samples were actively living Ascaris suum , which were taken from the small intestine of infected pigs. Samples were divided into five groups, i.e. negative control (1% FBS), positive control (1% of pirantel pamoate), and the treatment groups incubated with three extract with concentrations of 20%, 30% and 40%. The data obtained were statistically tested with the probit analysis using the program Minitab 16. The result showed that the LC 100 of noni fruit ethanol extract was 39,07%, while the LT 100 of noni fruit ethanol extract in 40% concentration was 9 hours 53 minutes. It can be concluded that noni fruit ethanol extract has an anthelmintic effect on Ascaris suum .
