Abstract

Asam mefenamat termasuk salah satu obat golongan Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) yang memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi, analgesik dan antipiretik. Tablet konvensional asam mefenamat memiliki onset kerja 2-4 jam dalam menurunkan gejala nyeri. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan fast disintegrating tablet asam mefenamat yang bertujuan untuk mempercepat onset kerja dari asam mefenamat sehingga efek terapeutik yang diinginkan bisa cepat tercapai. Pembuatan formula tersebut menggunakan perbandingan kadar kombinasi superdisintegran sodium starch glycolate dan croscarmellose sodium dengan menggunakan metode kempa langsung. Pada penelitian ini terdapat 3 formula dengan menggunakan perbandingan kadar kombinasi superdisintegran sodium starch glycolate dan croscarmellose sodium sebesar 5:10, 8:7, dan 10:5. Dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan perbandingan kadar kombinasi superdisintegran sodium starch glycolate dan croscarmellose sodium yang paling optimum adalah 5:10 dimana memiliki memiliki rata-rata waktu hancur sebesar 0.88 ± 0.0462 menit, rata-rata kekerasan sebesar 4.53 ± 0.194 kg, dan rata-rata waktu keterbasahan sebesar 0.80 ± 0.0462 menit.

English Abstract

Mefenamic acid is one of the Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) class which has activity as anti-inflammatory , analgesic and antipyretic. Mefenamic acid conventional tablet has onset of action of 2-4 hours in reducing the painful symptoms. In this study, the manufacture of fast disintegrating tablets mefenamic acid aims to accelerate the onset of action of mefenamic acid so that the desired therapeutic effect can be quickly achieved. The manufacture of formula using comparison concentration of combination superdisintegrant sodium starch glycolate and croscarmellose sodium by using direct compression method. In this study, there are three formulas by using a combination of comparative levels of sodium starch glycolate and croscarmellose sodium in a ratio 5:10, 8:7, and 10:5. From the results of this study, a comparison concentration of combination superdisintegrant sodium starch glycolate and croscarmellose sodium optimum in a ratio 5:10 which has had an average disintegration time at 0.88 ± 0.0462 minutes, the average hardness value at 4:53 ± 0.194 kg, and the average wetting time at 0.80 ± 0.0462 minutes.
