Abstract
Populasi lansia merupakan populasi dengan peningkatan pertumbuhan yang sangat cepat dari tahun ke tahun. Lansia mengalami proses penuaan sehingga menimbulkan berbagai dampak negatif pada diri lansia. Dampak yang timbul pada aspek psikososial dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya depresi pada lansia. Penatakalaksanaan depresi pada lansia dapat dilakukan dengan cara nonfarmakologi salah satunya adalah terapi berkebun. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi adanya perbedaan tingkat depresi lansia sebelum dan sesudah diberikan terapi berkebun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode one group pre test post test. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dan didapatkan sampel sejumlah 18 orang lansia. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam adalah kuesioner Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Didapatkan sebanyak 13 orang (72%) lansia yang mengalami depresi ringan sebelum dilakukan terapi berkebun, dan 10 orang (56%) lansia mengalami depresi ringan setelah dilakukan terapi berkebun. Jadi banyak ditemukan penurunan tingkat depresi setelah dilakukan terapi berkebun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan uji t berpasangan, ada perbedaan antara tingkat depresi lansia sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan terapi berkebun (p=0,000). Terdapat pengaruh antara terapi berkebun tehadap penurunan tingkat depresi lansia. Sehingga disarankan terhadap perawat dapat memberikan terapi berkebun sebagai salah satu alternatif intervensi keperawatan secara non farmakologis untuk membantu klien dengan depresi tingkat ringan sampai sedang.
English Abstract
The elderly population is a population with a very rapid increase in growth from year to year. Elderly experience the aging process, causing a variety of negative impacts on the elderly themselves. Of the effects on psychosocial aspects may lead to the occurrence of depression in the elderly. Management of depression in the elderly can be done by one of them is non-pharmacological therapeutic gardening. This study aims to identify the different levels of elderly depression before and after gardening therapy. This study uses one-group pre-test post-test. Samples were selected by purposive sampling technique with inclusion and exclusion criteria and obtained a sample of 18 elderly people. The instrument is used in the Geriatric Depression Scale questionnaire (GDS). Obtained as many as 13 people (72%) elderly who experience mild depression before gardening therapy, and 10 people (56%) seniors experiencing mild depression after gardening therapy. So much was found decreased levels of depression after gardening therapy. Based on the results of the study using a paired t test, there is a difference between elderly depression levels before and after gardening therapy (p = 0.000). There is the influence of gardening therapy tehadap decline in elderly depression. So advised the nurse to provide gardening therapy as an alternative non-pharmacological nursing interventions to assist clients with mild to moderate depression levels.
