Abstract
Insiden luka terkontaminasi pada tahun 2010 masih cukup tinggi. Luka terkontaminasi dapat berkembang menjadi luka terinfeksi apabila tidak segera ditangani. Infeksi dapat menghambat proses penyembuhan luka. Bahan yang sering dipakai oleh masyarakat dalam perawatan luka terbuka adalah povidone iodine 10%. Povidone iodine 10% sangat efektif mematikan mikroba, tetapi memiliki efek samping, yaitu dapat menimbulkan iritasi pada kulit, hipersensitivitas, serta meninggalkan residu. Kesalahan penggunaan preparat topikal untuk luka pada fase inflamasi dapat memperlambat penyembuhan dan kekuatan regangan luka menjadi tetap rendah sehingga risiko komplikasi seperti infeksi dapat meningkat. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan bahan lain sebagai alternatif untuk mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka terkontaminasi. Bahan yang ditawarkan adalah jahe emprit. Jahe emprit mengandung flavonoid, oleoresin dan minyak atsiri yang cukup tinggi sebagai anti-inflamasi dalam proses penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan lama eritema pada luka terkontaminasi yang dirawat menggunakan ekstrak jahe emprit dengan povidone iodine 10%. Metode yang digunakan, yaitu true experimental dengan hewan coba sebanyak 24 ekor tikus putih galur Wistar jantan yang dibagi dalam empat kelompok secara random. Pada punggung kanan setiap tikus dibuat luka insisi sepanjang 2,5 cm dan dipaparkan dengan udara bebas selama 6 jam. Perawatan luka pada kelompok kontrol menggunakan povidone iodine 10%, sedangkan kelompok perlakuan menggunakan ekstrak jahe emprit konsentrasi 5%, 20%, 35%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan One-Way Anova dan didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat perbedaan lama eritema antara perawatan menggunakan ekstrak jahe emprit dan povidone iodine 10% (p<0,027). Ekstrak jahe emprit 35% menunjukkan lama eritema yang paling cepat, namun tidak berbeda signifikan dengan povidone iodine 10%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak jahe emprit 35% memiliki efektivitas yang sama dengan Povidone iodine 10% dalam mempercepat masa eritema pada luka terkontaminasi. Disarankan untuk dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang efek ekstrak jahe emprit pada proses penyembuhan luka terkontaminasi secara mikroskopis dan efek samping penggunaan jangka panjang.
English Abstract
The incidence of contaminated wounds in 2010 is still quite high. Contaminated wound can develop into infected wounds if not treated immediately. Infection can impede the wound healing process. Materials are often used by people in the treatment of open wounds is povidone iodine 10%. Povidone iodine 10% is very effective lethal microbe, but it has side effects, which can cause skin irritation, hypersensitivity, and leaves residue. Misuse of topical preparations for wound can slow the inflammatory phase of healing and wound tensile strength be kept low so that the risk of complications such as infection can be increased. Therefore, other necessary materials as an alternative to speed up the healing process of wounds contaminated. The materials offered are ginger. Ginger contains flavonoids, essential oils and oleoresins are quite high as an anti - inflammatory in the wound healing process. This study aims to determine the differences of erythema periode on contaminated wounds treated using ginger extract with povidone iodine 10%. Method used in this experiment is true experimental method with twenty four white rats male strain Wistar that randomly divided into four groups. On the right back of each rat was made incision wound along 2.5 cm and exposed to free air for 6 hours. The control group was treated using povidone iodine 10%, while the treatment group using ginger extract concentration of 5%, 20%, 35%. Data were analyzed by One - Way ANOVA. The result showed there was a difference of erythema periode between group treated using ginger extract and povidone iodine 10% (p < 0.027). Ginger extract 35% showed the period of erythema is the fastest than others, but was not significantly different with povidone iodine 10%. Based on this study, it can be concluded that emprit ginger extract 35% has the same effectiveness with povidone Iodine 10% in topical to speed up the erythema periode on contaminated wounds. It is recommended to do further study on the effects of ginger extract on wound healing process contaminated microscopically and side effects of long term use.
