Abstract
Insiden luka terkontaminasi masih tergolong tinggi dan apabila tidak segera dirawat dapat berkembang menjadi luka terinfeksi. Bahan yang sering digunakan dalam perawatan luka terkontaminasi adalah povidone iodine 10% dan betaine polyhexanide 0,1%. Namun kedua bahan ini memiliki efek samping dapat menyebabkan iritasi pada kulit. Jahe emprit dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif perawatan luka terkontaminasi karena mengandung minyak atsiri, leoresin, dan flavonoid sebagai antimikroba. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan penurunan jumlah koloni bakteri pada perawatan luka dengan ekstrak etanolit jahe emprit (Zingiber Officinale var Amarum), povidone iodine 10% dan betaine polyhexanide 0,1% pada luka terkontaminasi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah true eksperimental Pre Test and Post Test Control Group Design dengan sampel 20 ekor tikus putih jantan. Sampel dibagi kedalam lima kelompok secara acak yaitu kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan ekstrak etanolit jahe emprit konsentrasi 5%, 20% dan 35% dan dua kelompok kontrol, yaitu kelompok yang dirawat dengan Povidone iodine 10% dan Betaine polyhexanide 0,1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penurunan jumlah koloni bakteri antarkelompok (p = 0,031 (α < 0,05)). Ekstrak jahe emprit 5% menunjukkan penurunan jumlah bakteri yang paling tinggi namun tidak berbeda signifikan dengan Povidone iodine 10% dan Betaine polyhexanide 0,1%.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak jahe emprit 5% memiliki efektivitas yang setara dengan Povidone iodine 10% dan Betaine polyhexanide 0,1% dalam menurunkan jumlah bakteri pada luka terkontaminasi.
English Abstract
The incidence of contaminated wound is still high and if it not treated immediately can develop into infected wounds. Materials are often used in the treatment of contaminated wound are povidone iodine 10% and betaine polyhexanide 0.1%. However, both these materials have side effects on the skin, can cause irritation. Emprit ginger can be used as an alternative treatment of contaminated wounds because it contain essential oils, oleoresins, and flavonoids as antimicrobial. The purpose of this research is to determine the differences decreament of bacteria colonies on the wound care treated with etanolit emprit ginger extract (Zingiber officinale var Amarum), povidone iodine 10% and 0.1% betaine polyhexanide in contaminated wounds. This research is true experimental, using pre test and post test control group design. This research used 20 male white rats. Sample are divided into five groups randomly, they are three treatment groups were given etanolit emprit ginger extract concentration of 5%, 20% and 35% and two control group, they are treated with povidone iodine 10% and betaine polyhexanide 0.1 %. The Result of this research is there is differences decreament of bacterial colonies between groups (p = 0.031 (α <0.05)). Etanolit emprit ginger extract 5% showed the highest a decrease in number of bacteria but was not significantly different with povidone iodine 10% and betaine polyhexanide 0.1%. Based on this research, it can be concluded that etanolit emprit ginger extract 5% is as effective as with povidone Iodine 10% and betaine polyhexanide 0.1% in reducing the number of bacteria in contaminated wounds.
