Abstract

Acinetobacter baumannii merupakan bakteri yang banyak menyebabkan infeksi nosokomial dan sudah resisten terhadap beberapa antibiotik. Karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mendapattkan alternatif terapi. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak dimanfaatkan secara tradisional dan diduga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif yaitu daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) dimana daun ini memiliki kandungan aktif flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang berperan sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri daun binahong terhadap Acinetobacter baumannii secara in vitro. Untuk menentukan KHM digunakan metode dilusi agar sedangkan untuk menentukan KBM digunakan metode dilusi tabung. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan adalah 0%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14% dan 15% dengan empat kali pengulangan. Analisis data menunjukkan adanya penurunan jumlah koloni bakteri Acinetobacter baumannii yang signifikan seiring dengan peningkatan dosis daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) (ANOVA, p = 0.000, p<0,05). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) memiliki efek antibakteri terhadap Acinetobacter baumannii dengan KHM (Kadar Hambat Minimal) 13% dan KBM (Kadar Bunuh Minimal) 15% sehingga dapat digunakan alternatif terapi terhadap bakteri Acinetobacter baumannii.

English Abstract

Acinetobacter baumannii is the most common bacteria that causes nosocomial infection and it has been reported that this bacteria resistant to varies kinds of antibiotics. Therefore, research to obtain alternative therapy needs to be done. One of the plants that is most used traditionally and has been estimated as an alternative therapy is the madeiravine leaves which contains active substances like flavonoid, saponin and tannin that has an antibacterial effect. This study aims to determine the effective antibacterial dose of the madeiravine leaves againts Acinetobacter baumannii in vitro. Agar dilution test was used to determine the MIC value while tube dilution method was used to determine the MBC value. Concentration of the ethanol extract used were 0%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14% and 15% with four repetitions. Data analysis shows there is a significant decrease on the amount of Acinetobacter baumannii.colonies with increasing dose of ethanol extract of madeiravine leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) (ANOVA, p = 0.000, p<0,05). Based on this study, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of madeiravine leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) has an antibacterial effect againts Acinetobacter baumannii bacteria with MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) of 13% and MBC (Minimum Bactericidal Concentration) of 15% which can be usedas an alternative therapy for Acinetobacter baumannii.
