Abstract

Lalat rumah ( Musca domestica ) bersifat kosmopolitan dan merupakan vektor mekanis yang menyebarkan berbagai jenis penyakit, seperti virus, bakteri, protozoa, cacing, amoeba, dan lainnya. Organisme patogen yang masuk ke dalam tubuh manusia dapat menimbulkan berbagai macam penyakit, di antaranya, penyakit viral seperti poliomielitis, hepatitis, trachoma, coxsackie, dan infeksi Enteric Cytopathic Human Orphan (ECHO) virus. Penyakit enterogastrik pada manusia, seperti disentri, diare, salmonellosis dan kolera. Pada beberapa kasus, lalat rumah juga bertindak sebagai vektor penyakit kulit seperti lepra dan yaws. Keberadaan lalat sangat mengganggu manusia sehingga perlu dilakukan pengendalian untuk mengurangi populasi lalat. Pengendalian dapat dilakukan secara alami atau menggunakan insektisida. Beberapa senyawa utama yang terkandung di dalam ekstrak daun sukun ( Artocarpus altilis ), yaitu flavonoid, tanin dan saponin yang diduga bermanfaat sebagai insektisida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi insektisida ekstrak daun sukun ( Artocarpus altilis ) terhadap lalat rumah ( Musca domestica ) dengan metode semprot. Ekstrak daun sukun didapatkan melalui proses maserasi. Penelitian eksperimental ini menggunakan 50 ekor lalat rumah yang dibagi menjadi 5 kandang. Kandang pertama disemprot dengan malathion 0,28%, 3 kandang menggunakan konsentrasi 30%; 40%; 50%; kandang terakhir menggunakan aquades. Jumlah kematian lalat dihitung pada jam ke-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, dan ke-24. Penelitian ini diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi insektisida maksimal sebesar 100% pertama kali dicapai oleh konsentrasi ekstrak 40% pada jam ke-24. Hasil uji one way ANOVA menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna antar kelompok perlakuan (p<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah daun sukun ( Artocarpus altilis ) memiliki potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat rumah ( Musca domestica ) .

English Abstract

Housefly ( Musca domestica ) are cosmopolitan and act as mechanical vectors that transmit various types of diseases, such as viruses, bacteria, protozoa, worms, amoeba, and others. Pathogens that enter the human body can cause a variety of diseases, including viral diseases, such as poliomielitis, hepatitis, trachoma, coxsackie, and Enteric Cytopathic Human Orphan (ECHO) viruses infection. Enterogastric diseases at human, such as dysentry, diarhea, salmonellosis and cholera. In some cases housefly also act as vectors of skin diseases, such as leprosy and yaws. The presence of housefly very annoying to human that needs to control the housefly population. The control can be done naturally or using insecticides. Breadfruit leaves ( Artocarpus altilis ) contain flavonoid, tannin and saponin that are predicted to have potential activity as insecticide. The aims of this study was to determine potency of breadfruit leaves ( Artocarpus altilis ) extract as insecticide against housefly by using spraying method. Breadfruit leaves extract was obtained by maceration process. This study is experimental study that use 50 flies divided by 5 cages. First cage sprayed with malathion 0,28%, 3 cages sprayed with concentration 30%; 40%; 50%; and the last cage sprayed with aquadest. The number of death was counted at 1 st hour, 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , 5 th , 6 th , and 24 th . This study be repeated 4 times. The results showed that the maximum potential of 100% insecticide was first achieved by concentration of the extract 40% at the 24 th hour. The results of one way ANOVA test showed no significant differences between treatment groups (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study is the breadfruit leaves ( Artocarpus altilis ) has potential activity as insecticides against housefly ( Musca domestica ).
