Abstract
Salmonella Typhi Adalah Kuman Penyebab Demam Tifoid. Rimpang Tanaman Huang Lian ( Coptis Chinensis ) Memiliki Kandungan Senyawa Alkaloid Berberine Dan Palmatine. Senyawa Aktif Tersebut Berperan Sebagai Antimikroba Untuk S. Typhi Yang Dibuktikan Dalam Penelitian Ini Dengan Menggunakan Desain Eksperimental. Metode Dilusi Tabung Digunakan Untuk Mengetahui Nilai Kadar Hambat Minimal (Khm) Dan Kadar Bunuh Minimal (Kbm). Ekstrak Diperoleh Melalui Metode Soxhlet Dengan Pelarut Ethanol 96%. Konsentrasi Yang Digunakan Yaitu 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, Dan 16%. Dari Penelitian Tidak Didapatkan Khm Ekstrak Rimpang Tanaman Huang Lian Dikarenakan Kepekatan Ekstrak Yang Cukup Tinggi. Kbm Berada Pada Konsentrasi 12%, Di Mana Tidak Ada Pertumbuhan Koloni Bakteri Pada Na Plate. Hasil Penelitian Menunjukkan Secara Signifikan Bahwa Semakin Tinggi Konsentrasi Ekstrak Rimpang Tanaman Huang Lian Maka Semakin Rendah Pertumbuhan S. Typhi. Kesimpulan Dari Penelitian Ini Adalah Ekstrak Rimpang Tanaman Huang Lian Memiliki Efek Antimikroba Terhadap S. Typhi.
English Abstract
Salmonella Typhi Is The Cause Of Typhoid Fever. Huang Lian Rhizome( Coptis Chinensis ) Contains The Alkaloid Berberine And Palmatine. The Active Compound Acts As An Antimicrobial Against S. Typhi Which Is Evidenced In This Study Using An Experimental Design. Tube Dilution Method Is Used To Determine The Value Of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (Mic) And Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (Mbc). Extract Is Obtained By Soxhlet Method With 96 % Ethanol Solvent . Concentrations Used Were 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14%, And 16%. This Study Was Not Able To Obtain The Mic Of Huang Lian Rhizome Extract Due To The Relatively High Density . Mbc Is Obtained At The Concentration Of 12 % , Where There Are No Growth Of Bacterial Colonies On Na Plates. The Results Showed That The Higher The Concentration Of Huang Lian Rhizome Extract, The Lower The Growth Of S. Typhi Will Be. The Conclusion Of This Study Is That Huang Lian Rhizome Extract Has An Antimicrobial Effect Against S. Typhi
