Abstract

Penyakit Kardiovaskular Menjadi Faktor Utama Penyebab Kematian Di Dunia. Diperkirakan Setiap Tahunnya 15,3 Juta Orang Meninggal Dunia Karena Penyakit Kardiovaskular (Atau 30% Dari Total Kematian Di Dunia). WHO Berpendapat Bahwa Penyebab Utama Penyakit Kardiovaskuler Dan Stroke Adalah Aterosklerosis. Antioksidan Seperti Polifenol Menjadi Salah Satu Metode Mencegah Aterosklerosis. Salah Satu Tanaman Yang Mengandung Kandungan Tinggi Polifenol Adalah Umbi Rumput Teki ( Cyperus Rotundus ). Penelitian Ini Bertujuan Untuk Mengetahui Bahwa Pemberian Ekstrak Etanol Dari Umbi Rumput Teki Berpengaruh Terhadap Kadar IL-6 Tikus ( Rattus Norvegicus) Strain Wistar Yang Diberi Asupan Diet Aterogenik. Studi Ini Menggunakan Metode Randomized Post Test Only Controlled Group Design . Sampel Dipilih Secara Acak Kemudian Dibagi Menjadi 5 Kelompok Dengan 5 Pengulangan Yakni Kelompok Kontrol Negatif (Diet Normal), Kelompok Kontrol Positif (Diet Aterogenik), Kelompok Diet Aterogenik Dengan Ekstrak Etanol Dari Umbi Rumput Teki 6.14 Mg/Hari, 12.28 Mg/Hari, 24.56 Mg/Hari Sebagai Kelompok Perlakuan 1, 2, Dan 3. Pemberian Diet Dan Ekstrak Dilakukan Selama 60 Hari Kemudian Hewan Coba Dikorbankan Untuk Diambil Darahnya Dari Jantung. Hasil Perhitungan IL-6 Dengan Metode ELISA Menunjukkan Bahwa Pada Kelompok Tikus Yang Diberi Diet Aterogenik Dengan Ekstrak Etanol Umbi Rumput Teki Menunjukan Penurunan Kadar IL-6 Secara Bertahap Setiap Peningkatan Dosis Ekstrak Etanol Umbi Rumput Teki (P1 = 647,50 ± 57,41 Ng/Ml Dan P2 = 632,08 ± 73,49 Ng/Ml). Penurunan Mencapai Signifikansi (P<0,05) Pada Kelompok Diet Aterogenik Ditambah Asupan Ekstrak Etanol Umbi Rumput Teki Dosis 24,56 Mg/Hari (P3 = 547,91 ± 61,88 Ng/Ml). Dari Hasil Penelitian Ini, Terdapat Hubungan Negatif Antara Peningkatan Dosis Ekstrak Etanol Umbi Rumput Teki Dengan Kadar IL-6 (Uji Korelasi Pearson R=-0,489, P<0,05). Berdasarkan Hasil Penelitian Ini, Disimpulkan Bahwa Pemberian Ekstrak Rhizoma Rumput Teki Mampu Menurunkan Kadar IL-6 Secara Signifikan Tikus Wistar Yang Diberi Diet Aterogenik, Dengan Dosis 24.56 Mg/Hari.

English Abstract

Deaths Due To Cardiovascular Disease Worldwide Still Remain As The Leading Cause Of Mortality In The Developing World. It Is Estimated That 15,3 Million People Die From Cardiovascular Disease Every Year (Or 30% Of All Total Deaths). WHO Believes That The Main Cause Of Cardiovascular Disease And Stroke Is Atherosclerosis. Antioxidant Such As Polyphenol Is One Of Atherosclerosis Prevention Methods. One Of The Plants That Contain High Level Of Polyphenol Are Nut Grass ( Cyperus Rotundus ) Rhizome. The Purpose Of This Study Was To Prove That Nut Grass Rhizome Extract Could Decrease IL-6 Serum In Wistar Rats Fed With Atherogenic Diet. This Experimental Study Used Randomized Post Test Only Controlled Group Design . The Subjects Were Randomly Selected And Divided Into Five Groups With 5 Samples Each Groups. The Groups Were Negative Control (Normal Diet), Positive Control (Atherogenic Diet), And Three Test Groups Who Were Given Atherogenic Diet Added With 6.14; 12.28; And 24.56 Mg/Day Nut Grass Rhizome Extract For 60 Days And Then Sacrificed To Take Blood From The Heart. The Result Of IL-6 Serum Calculated With ELISA Method Indicate That In Wistar Rats Fed With Atherogenic Diet With Range Dose Of Nut Grass Rhizome Extract Showed Decreased Level Of IL-6 Gradually Increasing Doses Of Nut Grass Rhizome Extract (P1 = 647,50 ± 57,41 Ng/Ml And P2 = 632,08 ± 73,49 Ng/Ml). Decreased Level Of IL-6 Serum Reached Significant Difference For The Group Treated With 24.56 Mg/Day Nut Grass Rhizome Extract P3 = 547,91 ± 61,88 Ng/Ml). There Was Negative Correlation Between Dose Of Nut Grass Rhizome Extract And Level IL-6 Serum (Pearson Correlation Test R=-0.489, P<0.05). It Is Concluded That Nut Grass ( Cyperus Rotundus) Rhizome Extract Can Significantly Decrease IL-6 Serum Of Wistar Rats Fed With Atherogenic Diet, The Dose Of 24.56 Mg/Day.
