English Abstract

Some Trip Assignment methods have been known to identify road route used by driver. this route identification will get amount of traffic volume in every link. however, there is no research so far to find the best method for such case in Indonesia, especially Surabaya.this research was using three methods to identify route choice by road user. they were all or nothing, incremental loading and equilibrium methods. vehicle movement data in Surabaya was used, and also three impedance link functions. they were distance, time and cost.distribution of private car model of Surabaya was used to estimate vehicle movement distribution. this models was the result of Surabaya Integrated Transportation Network Planning (SITNP) year 1995. then traffic volume resulted by modeling process will be compared to real traffic volume resulted by field survey. traffic volume used as comparison was traffic volume in 15 links and turning movement in 23 road sections in Surabaya consist of arterial road, collector and radial movement, through traffic and diversion movement.this research obtained Trip Assignment Incrurnental method 10% with time, impedance gave statistically the best traffic volume estimation with level of significance is 95%. empirical formula between estimated traffic volume and real traffic volume could be also counted.this research can be used to calibrate estimated traffic volume against real traffic volume in transportation modeling especially in Surabaya.
