Abstract
Peneliti melakukan penelitian tentang Bahasa kiasan atau majas yang terdapat pada lagu-lagu Adele dalam album yang berjudul "25". Dalam studi bahasa kiasan, peneliti menggunakan teori Keraf (2009) dan Reaske (1996) untuk mengetahui jenis bahasa kiasan dalam lirik lagu Adele dalam 25 album. Dalam sebuah studi ada dua masalah yang harus dipecahkan: (1) 1. Bahasa kiasan apa yang digunakan dalam lirik lagu album Adele "25"?, (2) Apa arti dari lirik lagu album Adele " 25 "? Penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dalam hasil datanya tidak dalam angka numerik. Data diambil dari lirik lagu-lagunya di album Adele yang berjudul "25". Ada empat belas lagu di album ini.Studi ini menunjukkan ada lima puluh lima baris yang berisi bahasa kiasan di album ini. Ada enam belas hiperbola, lima perumpamaan, enam metafora, lima personifikasi, delapan simbol, tiga metonim, satu synecdoche, empat ironi, enam paradoks, dan satu apostrof. Penulis menyarankan untuk peneliti berikutnya yang juga tertarik untuk melakukan studi serupa tentang majas untuk mengambil sumber data dan / atau teori bahasa kiasan yang berbeda. Terakhir, untuk Program Studi Bahasa Inggris untuk menambahkan lebih banyak referensi yang berkaitan dengan topik ini agar peneliti selanjutnya dapat menyajikan tinjauan pustaka yang lebih kaya dan mampu mendukung analisis penelitian mereka.
English Abstract
The researcher conducted a study about Figurative Language found in Adele’s songs in album entitled “25”. In the study of figurative language, the researcher use Keraf (2009) and Reaske (1996) theory to find out kinds of figurative language in Adele’s song lyrics in 25 album . In the study there are two problems to be solved, namely: (1) What kinds of figurative language are used in the song lyrics of Adele album “25”?, and (2) What are the meanings of the songs lyrics of Adele album “25” ? The writer uses qualitative approach, in result of the data were in the words form not in numerical score. The data were taken from the lyrics of the songs in Adele album entitled “25”. There are fourteen tracks in this album. This study shows there are fifty-five lines contains figurative language in this album. There were sixteen hyperboles, five similes, six metaphors, five personifications, eight symbols, three metonymies, one synecdoche, four irony, six paradox, and one apostrophe. The writer suggest for the next researcher who are also interested in conduct similar study about figurative language to take different data source and/or other theory of figurative language. In the end, for English Study Program to add more references relating to this topic in order the next researchers could present richer literature review that is able to support the analysis of their study.
