Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran trait mindfulness pada pengaruh social exclusion terhadap perilaku agresif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 81 mahasiswa sebagai partisipan dengan rentang usia 17 – 22 tahun (M=18.74, SD=1.010). Partisipan secara acak dibagi menjadi dua kondisi, yaitu kondisi exclusion dan misfortune control dimana pembagian kelompok tersebut didasarkan pada feedback social exclusion yang sekaligus diberikan untuk memprovokasi perilaku agresif partisipan. Trait mindfulness diukur menggunakan Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS; cronbach alpha’s = 0.818), sementara perilaku agresif diukur menggunakan reputation damage procedure (RDP) yang dianalisis per item. Hasil analisis statistik menggunakan metode bootstrap moderasi sederhana (Hayes model 1) dengan melakukan resampling sebanyak 5.000 kali (CI= 95%) menunjukkan bahwa trait mindfulness tidak mampu menjadi moderator pengaruh social exclusion terhadap perilaku agresif.
English Abstract
This research aims to identify the effect of trait mindfulness on the relationship between social exclusion and aggressive behavior. Within-subject experiment is conducted involving 81 undergraduate students with age ranged from 17 – 22 years old, These participants were dividedby two conditions; exclusion and misfortune control. The conditions were based on social exclusion feedback which also used to provocate aggressive behavior.mindfulness trait is measured by Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS; Cronbach alpha’s = 0.818), while aggressive behavior is measured by Reputation Damage Procedure (RDP) which anlyzed per item.Statistical analytic using simple moderation bootstrap (Hayes model 1) with 5,000 times resampling (CI=95%) showed that mindfulness trait could not moderate the effect of social exclusion to aggressive behavior.
