Abstract
Film merupakan media yang paling penting dalam menyampaikan cerita pada abad 21. Film menawarkan berbagai macam variasi gaya penceritaan dan genre. Film superhero sebagai salah satu genre yang paling populer di abad 21 memberikan cerita yang mampu menginspirasikan, memberikan nilai kepahlawanan dan patriotisme. Film superhero mempunyai kesamaan dengan cerita rakyat Karena itu, penulis mencoba untuk menerapkan Teori Narasi Propp pada beberapa film superhero dan membandingkannya. Dalam studi ini penulis memilih untuk fokus pada tiga film superhero populer, Spider-Man, Batman Begins dan Iron Man. Ada 2 masalah yang harus dipecahkan, yaitu persamaan apakah yang bisa ditemukan pada Spider-Man, Iron Man dan Batman Begins menggunakan teori narasi propp dan perbedaan apakah yang ditemukan di tiga film superhero tersebut. Hasil dari studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa pada film Spider-Man terdapat 33 fungsi propp yang bisa ditemukan dan dibagi menjadi 2 move. Sedangkan di Batman Begins ditemukan 33 fungsi propp yang bisa dibagi menjadi 4 move. Pada Iron Man ditemukan 28 fungsi propp yang bisa dibagi menjadi 3 move.. Penulis menyarankan peneliti berikutnya untuk menganalisa teori narasi propp pada film superhero di media, negara atau bahasa lainnya. Penulis juga menyarankan peneliti berikutnya untuk menambahkan teori baru selain teori narasi propp untuk memperkaya pengetahuan bagi yang membaca hasil penelitian tersebut.
English Abstract
Film or movie is one of the most prominent literary works in 21st century. Film has offers vast variation on genre and style in storytelling. Superhero movies is one of the most popular genre in 21th century. Superhero movies can serve as an inspiring figure, source of patriotism and heroic code and appear similar with fairytales. The writer try to define the characteristic in several Superhero Movies and compare it using Propp Narrative Theory. In this study the writer choose to focus on three popular superhero movies, Spider-Man, Batman Begins and Iron Man. There are two problems to be solved in this study, namely : To what extent the similarity among Spiderman, Iron Man and Batman Begins and to what extent those three superhero movies are different from each other. This study reveal that in Spider-Man there are 33 Propp’s Function can be detected in Spider-Man which can be separated into two moves. While, in Batman Begins, the writer finds 33 propp’s function which can be separated into four moves. In Iron Man, the writer finds 28 propp’s function which can be separated into three moves. The writer expects the next researchers to analyze the presence of Propp characteristics in a wider range of Superhero Movies in different media, country or language. The writer also suggests the next researcher add other theories besides Propp Narrative Theory to enrich the knowledge for those who read his or her research report.
