Abstract
Cerita fiksi-ilmiah adalah salah satu jenis karya sastra yang cenderung untuk mengadaptasi dan mengkombinasi sejumlah kata dan istilah dari bidang pengetahuan lain. Dapat dikatakan demikian walaupun tidak menutup kemungkinan untuk mengadaptasi kata dan istilah dari bidang lain diluar bidang ilmiah. Kata-kata tersebut dibentuk untuk memberikan kesan sastra seperti membangun perasaan dalam cerita, atau bahkan membawa pesan-pesan tersirat bagi para pembaca. Cerita fiksi ilmiah bisa dibuat dalam berbagai bentuk karya, dalam studi ini penulis memfokuskan pada buku komik. Ada 2 permasalahan yang hendak diungkap: (1) Apa saja kata bentukan yang ditemukan didalam buku komik Knights of Apocalypse dan (2) bagaimana kata bentukan tersebut dibentuk dalam buku komik Knights of Apocalypse. Penulis mengaplikasikan pendekatan kualitatif dalam bentuk analisa dokumen. Data dalam studi ini adalah kata-kata bentukan yang ditemukan dalam buku komik Knights of Apocalypse yang dapat dianalisa dengan teori proses formasi kata. Hasil dari studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat 37 kata bentukan, 35 kata terbentuk dari proses borrowing, 10 kata dari proses komposisi, 6 kata dari proses alternation, 5 kata dari proses proper noun, 4 kata dari proses clipping, 3 kata dari proses afiksasi, dan 1 kata dari proses backformation. Dalam studi ini, penulis juga menemukan 16 kata yang dibentuk dengan proses tunggal dan 21 kata dibentuk dengan proses ganda. Penulis menyarankan peneliti berikutnya untuk menganalisa morfologi pada cerita fiksi di media lainnya, seperti novel atau film. Penulis jugamenyarankan peneliti berikutnya untuk menambahkan teori baru selain teori proses formasi kata untuk memperkaya pengetahuan bagi peneliti ataupun pembaca hasil penelitian tersebut.
English Abstract
Science-fiction story is a type of literary works that tend to adapt and combine several words and term from other fields of knowledge. It is said so although it also adapts words and terms from other fields besides scientific fields. It is conducted in order to give some literary effects such as to build the feeling of the story, or even to carry some messages to the viewer. Science-fiction story can be made in many forms of works, in this study the writer focuses on comic book. There are two problems in this study, namely: (1) What are the derived words found in Knights of Apocalypse comic books and (2) How ar the derived words formed in Knights of Apocalypse comic books. The writer applies qualitative approach which is in the type of document analysis. The data are the derived words found in Knights of Apocalypse comic books which can be analyzed in terms of word-formation processes. This study reveals that there are 37 derived words. Among these, 35 words have a process of borrowing, 10 words of compounding, 6 words of alternation, 5 words of proper noun, 4 words of clipping, 3 words of affixation, and 1 word of backformation. In the study, it is also found that 16 words are formed by single process and 21 words are formed by multiple processes. The writer expects the next researchers will analyze morphology on fiction stories in other media, such as novels or movies. The writer also suggests the next researcher to add other theories besides word-formation processes to enrich the knowledge of the researcher and reader.
