Indonesian Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh propagasi ragi terhadap kadar bioetanol yang dihasilkan. Bioetanol merupakan alkohol yang memiliki gugus hidroksil (OH), 2 atom karbon, rumus kimia C2H5OH dengan fermentasi gula yang memanfaatkan mikroorganisme. Bahan yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah tepung ubi kayu, dimana tepung ubi kayu ini mengandung pati. Pati di hidrolisis pada suhu 100oC selama 30 menit dengan asam sulfat konsentrasi 0%; 0,5%; 1% dan 2% (w/w), kemudian pati yang dihidrolisis ditambahkan NPK, urea dan buffer asam sitrat yang berfungsi sebagai media nutrient, selanjutnya dilakukan fermentasi selama 2 hari dengan ragi tape tanpa propagasi maupun dengan propagasi . Bioetanol yang didapatkan diukur kadarnya dengan refraktometer. Hasil fermentasi bioetanol yang paling tinggi dihasilkan dengan ragi tape yang telah dipropagasi daripada ragi tape tanpa dipropagasi dengan konsentrasi asam sulfat paling optimum sebesar 1 % , dimana kadar bioetanol yang tertinggi untuk ragi tape dipropagasi sebesar 3 % dan pada ragi tape tanpa propagasi dihasilkan kadar bioetanol tertinggi sebesar 1,5 %.

English Abstract

This research purposes is discover influence of yeast propagation or without propagation yeast to ethanol content. Bioethanol is alcohol that have hydrosol group (OH), two carbon atom (C) with chemical formula is C2H5OH which is made by sugar fermentation used microorganism. Subrate used in this research is cassava flour, which cassava flour has much starch. Starch was hydrolyzed at 100oC for 30 minute with sulfuric acid consentration 0%;0,5%;1% and 2%(w/w), media hydrolyzed was then added NPK, Urea and citrit acid buffer as nutrient media after that fermented for 2 days using tape yeast propagation or without propagation . Bioethanol produced is measured by refractometer. The highest bioethanol content is produced by propagation of tape yeast than without propagation tape yeast in sulfuric acid concentration 1% (w/w), which the highest bioethanol in propagation tape yeast is 3 % and for without propagation of tape yeast is 1,5 %.
