Lestari, Ika Dana Tia (2017) Pemerian Fitur-Fitur Semantik Pada Verba Dan Bentukan Verba Bahasa Indonesia Yang Berciri (+Tindakan +Manusia +Tangan –Menyakiti +Sasaran Manusia) Dan Penggunaannya Dalam Prosa Modern Indonesia. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

English Abstract

Languages can have multiple symbol memberships for certain lexical fields, one of it is Indonesian. Symbols in a lexical field that can be a word or a lexeme tend to have a relation of adjacent meaning or synonym for giving meaning based on the interpretation of the general meaning. These resulting in the meaning of these lexemes seem overlapping. Modern Indonesian prose writers often do not pay attention to the characteristics, features, or components of the verb semantics and the verb derivation that characterized (+ACTION +HUMAN +HAND -ABUSE +HUMAN TARGETS) that become the data in this study. The research data is obtained from Indonesian Dictionary by Sugono, et al (2008). The data is in the form of verb lexemes and Indonesian verb derivations that characterized (+ACTION +HUMAN +HAND -ABUSE +HUMAN TARGETS). The observation-record technique is used in data collection. Data analysis was performed using diagnostic sentences with but element (but-test). The result of the study showed that there were fifty verb lexemes and Indonesian verb derivations that characterized (+ACTION +HUMAN +HAND -ABUSE +HUMAN TARGETS). There were twelve groups by purpose (1) ‘release’, (2) ‘wrap’, (3) ‘change’, (4) ‘bring’, (5) ‘gesture’, (6) ‘clean’, (7) ‘smear’, (8) ‘overflow’, (9) ‘lighten’, (10) ‘ensure’, (11) ‘counteract’, and (12) ‘direct’. There were eight dimensions that embrace eighty four semantic components. The classification of such data is based on the frequent occurrence of verbs and the formation of verbs, which have the characteristics (+ACTION +HUMAN +HAND -ABUSE +HUMAN TARGETS), is (i) often used, (ii) rarely used, and (iii) not used. The modern Indonesian prose used in this study is a novel by Pramoedya Ananta Toer entitled Bumi Manusia and also a novel by Harold Lamb entitled Omar Khayyam. In both novels found the use of lexeme (5) washes, (8) stroked, (11) guided, (22) cradled, (24) rubbed, (30) compressed, (31) coupling, (33) delaying, (40) embracing, (42) touching, (43) embracing, (45) making up, (46) touch, (47) pat, and (50) rubbed.
