Indonesian Abstract

Peranan penting bunsen burner dalam pembakaran mendorong untuk dilakukan penelitian. Apalagi bunsen burner hingga saat ini belum memiliki standarisasi baik dalam bentuk maupun dimensi. Bunsen burner sering kali digunakan untuk mencari nilai kecepatan pembakaran laminar. Sedangkan banyak sekali faktor pada bunsen burner yang mempengaruhi kecepatan api laminar. Guna mengetahui pengaruh dari temperatur bunsen burner terhadap karakteristik nyala api laminar maka dipasanglah ring dengan beberapa variasi diameternya. Pemasangan ini didasarkan pada teori perpindahan panas sehingga menjadi perluasan daerah pendinginan. Pada penelitian kali ini digunakan bunsen burner dengan diameter dalam 12mm dan diameter luar 16mm. Bahan bakar yang digunakan adalah metana dimana gugus paling sederhana dari alkana ini merupakan sumber bahan bakar yang terbanyak di alam. Pada penelitian ini digunakan nilai equivalence ratio campuran gas metana dan udara sebesar 1,04; 1,14; 1,26; 1,38; 1,56; 1,79 dan 2,04. Variasi diameter ring yang digunakan yaitu bunsen burner tanpa ring, 21mm, 26mm, 31mm, 36mm dan 41mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa temperatur api semakin menurun dengan bertambahnya nilai equivalence ratio dan temperatur api semakin turun seiring bertambah besarnya diameter ring. Tinggi api akan semakin naik seiring bertambah besarnya nilai equivalence ratio dan tinggi api akan semakin naik pula seiring bertambah besar nilai diameter ring. Kecepatan api laminar (SL) semakin turun seiring bertambah besarnya nilai equivalence ratio dan kecepatan api laminar akan semakin menurun seiring bertambah besarnya nilai diameter ring.

English Abstract

The important fnuction of bunsen burner in combustion has been force scientists to make reearch. Moreover till this time bunsen burner hasn’t been standardized in both of form and dimention. Bunsen burner used for knowing laminar flame speed. However there was many factor on bunsen burner will affect the laminar flame speed. In order to analyse the affect of bunsen burner temperature to laminar flame characteristic, so we installed ring with some diameter variation on the bunsen burner. This installation basic from theory of heat transfer, which one extended surface area for more quenching distance. In this research used bunsen burner with diameter inside 12mm and outside 16mm. The fuel had used methane, where was the simplest hydrocarbon of alkane and the most fuel resource in natural gases. In this research we use equivalence ratio 1,04; 1,14; 1,26; 1,38; 1,56; 1,79 and 2,04. Variation of ring diameter used is bunsen burner without ring, 21mm, 26mm, 31mm, 36mm dan 41mm. The result from this research showing if flame temperature will be go down when equivalence ratio rising and flame temperature will decrease when diameter ring get width. Flame height will be increased when equivalence ratio get bigger and flame height also increase when diameter ring widened. Laminar flame speed (SL) will decrease when the equivalence ratio increase and laminar flame speed (SL) will get down when diameter ring get width.
