Indonesian Abstract

Kalium merupakan unsur hara makro esensial yang berperan penting dalam proses pembentukan umbi bawang merah. Namun, kemampuan tanah dalam menyediakan K umumnya sangat rendah khususnya di Kecamatan Senori Kabupaten Tuban yang memiliki K tersedia yang rendah, hal tersebut dikarenakan hara K sangat mudah tercuci karena sifatnya yang mobile. Ketersediaan K yang rendah menyebabkan serapan K oleh tanaman menurun. Upaya untuk mengatasi kondisi lahan tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui pemberian zeolit dan bahan organik karena zeolit didominasi oleh kation K dan zeolit juga mempunyai kapasitas penyerapan hara terutama K dan NH4 yang tinggi sehingga kemampuan tanah mengikat unsur-unsur tersebut dapat meningkat. Sedangkan bahan organik yang berasal dari kotoran ayam memiliki kandungan unsur hara makro yang tinggi terutama K sehingga dapat menambah ketersediaan hara bagi tanaman. Penggunaan zeolit dan bahan organik pada sampel tanah Kecamatan Senori Kabupaten Tuban diharapkan mampu mengatasi permasalahan pada tanah tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi zeolit dan bahan organik terhadap efisiensi serapan K serta produksi bawang merah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat terhadap kesuburan tanah khususnya di lahan Kabupaten Tuban. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah kaca di Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas Brawijaya. Analisis tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kimia dan Fisika Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian dimulai pada bulan April sampai Agustus 2017. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Masing-masing perlakuan memiliki komposisi bahan meliputi perlakuan kontrol, Zeolit 100%, Bahan organik 100%, Zeolit 50% + Bahan organik 50%, Zeolit 100% + Bahan Organik 100%. Data diuji dengan analisis ragam dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT taraf 5% dan korelasi serta regresi untuk mengetahui pengaruh antar perlakuan. Parameter yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pH, K tersedia, KTK, serapan K, tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, berat basah tanaman dan berat kering tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi perlakuan berpengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan pH, KTK dan K tersedia. Pemberian 100% zeolit + 100% bahan organik meningkatkan serapan K sebesar 0,51 g tanaman-1 dan efisiensi pemupukan tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan zeolit 100% dengan nilai sebesar 137,50%. Penggunaan 100% zeolit + 100% bahan organik menunjukkan peningkatan tinggi tanaman sebesar 38,50% dan jumlah anakan sebesar 4,67%, sedangkan pada berat basah dan berat kering tanaman mampu menaikkan bobot sebesar 71,40 g tanaman-1 dan 6,48 g tanaman-1.

English Abstract

Potassium is an essential macro nutrient which has important role in formation process for onion bulbs. However, the ability of soil in providing K generally is very low especially in Senori Sub-district, Tuban that has low total of K. It is because nutrients of K are very easily washed. It has the nature of in mobile. The low availability of K effects the uptake decreases. The effort for coping this land condition can be done through giving zeolite and organic ingredient because zeolite is dominated by K cation and zeolite also has uptake capacity of nutrient especially K and high NH4 so that soil ability that binds the elements will increase. Whereas organic ingredient that comes from chicken manure has high macro nutrient content especially K so it can add the availability of nutrient for plants. The use of zeolite and organic ingredient in soil sample in Senori sub-district Tuban is expected to be able to coping the problems of the soil. This research was conducted to find out the zeolite application and organic ingredient toward uptake efficiency K and production of red onion. The result of the research is expected to be able to give advantage toward soil fertility especially in land of Tuban District. This research was conducted in greenhouse of Brawijaya University laboratory. Soil analysis was done in chemical and soil physic laboratory of agriculture faculty of Brawijaya University. This research began in April until August 2017. The research used complete randomized design (RAL) that consisted 5 treatments and 3 repetitions. Each treatment has ingredient composition including control treatment, zeolite 100%, organic matter 100%, zeolite 50% + 50% organic matter, 100% zeolite + 100% organic matter. Data was examined by analyzing the varieties then it was done BNT test of 5% level and correlation and regression to find out the effect between the treatments. Parameter which was used in this research were pH, exiting K, KTK, K uptake, height of plant, gross weight and dry weight of the plants. The result of the research showed the treatment application has positive effect in increasing pH, KTK and existing K. Zeolite 100% + organic ingredient 100% increases K uptake amounted 0,51 g plant-1 and the highest fertilizer efficiency there are in treatment zeolit 100% of 137,50%. the using of zeolite 100% + organic matter 100% showed that it increased the height of plant amounted 38.50% numbers of tilled were 4,67%, whereas gross and dry weight of plant could increase the weight until 71.40 g plant-1 and 6.48 g plant-1.
