Indonesian Abstract

Penurunan pH perairan mempengaruhi kehidupan biota laut terlebih biota yang dalam siklus hidupnya memerlukan CaCO3. Penurunan populasi biota laut juga banyak disebabkan karena pencemaran. Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) dan Chemically Enhanced Water Accommodated Fraction (CEWAF) merupakan bahan kimia yang banyak digunakan untuk uji toksisitas biota perairan yang tercemar minyak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kandungan PAH pada WAF dan CEWAF, mengetahui perbedaan kondisi pH dan konsentrasi WAF, CEWAF dan dispersan yang mempengaruhi mortalitas udang vaname, serta mengetahui LC50 dari WAF, CEWAF dan dispersan terhadap udang vaname. Uji toksisitas dilakukan dengan menggunakan konsentrasi 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% untuk WAF dan 0%, 4%, 8%, 16% dan 32% untuk CEWAF dan Dispersan selama 72 jam. Analisis probit dilakukan untuk mengetahui LC50, PAH dianlisis dengan menggunakan GCMS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 9 jenis PAH dalam WAF dengan total PAH sebesar 0,8411 ppm sedangkan terdapat 8 jenis PAH dalam CEWAF dengan total PAH sebesar 3,1636 ppm. Semakin tinggi konsentrasi WAF, CEWAF dan Dispersan dengan kondisi pH yang semakin rendah menyebabkan mortalitas udang semakin tinggi. Konsentrasi WAF, CEWAF dan dispersan selama 72 jam yang mematikan 50% L.vannamei dengan pH 6,5 berturut – turut adalah 197,7g/L, 11,059g/L dan 0,63g/L. Sedangkan pada kondisi pH 8,5 berturut – turut adalah 227g/L, 17,566g/L, 0,546g/L dan semua bersifat tidak toksik. Meski demikian, penggunaan dispersan dalam pencemaran minyak menyebabkan tingkat toksisitas lebih tinggi dibandingkan minyak itu sendiri.

English Abstract

Decrease in pH waters affect the life of marine biota especially requires CaCO3. The decline in marine biota population is also due by pollution. Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) and Chemically Enhanced Water Accommodated Fraction (CEWAF) is a chemical widely used for toxicity test in oil pollution. This study was conducted to determine the difference of PAH content in WAF and CEWAF, to know the difference of pH conditions and concentrations by WAF, CEWAF and dispersants affecting whiteleg shrimp mortality, and to know LC50 from WAF, CEWAF and dispersant of L. vannamei. Toxicity tests were performed using 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% concentrations of WAF and 0%, 4%, 8%, 16% and 32% of CEWAF and Dispersant up to 72 hours. Probit analysis was used to determine LC50, PAH analyzed by GCMS. The results showed there are 9 types of PAH in WAF with 0.8411 ppm concentration, whereas there are 8 types of PAH in CEWAF with 3,1636 ppm concentration. The higher concentrations of WAF, CEWAF and Dispersant with lower pH conditions lead to higher mortality. Concentrations of WAF, CEWAF and dispersants for 72 hours that killed 50% L.vannamei of pH 6.5 were 197.7gL-1, 11.059gL-1 and 0.63gL-1, respectively. Whereas at conditions of pH 8.5 are 227gL-1, 17,566gL-1, 0.546gL-1 are non-toxic. However, use of dispersants in oil pollution causes higher levels of toxicity than the oil itself.
