Fadillah,, Rischa (2017) Hubungan Frekuensi Melakukan Senam Kaki Diabetik Terhadap Skor Ankle Brachial Index Pada Penderita Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 Di Rumah Sakit Tni Ad Kota Kediri. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

English Abstract

The number of patient with diabetes mellitus in Indonesia is still high. Based on data from Riskesdas (2013), the prevalence of diagnosed diabetes in Indonesia is 1.5%, while in East Java the prevalence of diagnosed diabetes is 2.1%. Approximately 14% - 24% of the diabetic foot patients require amputation. Diabetic foot exercise can be one alternative physical activities to improve blood flow and facilitate the blood circulation. This study was aimed to identify the relationship of diabetic foot exercise frequency and ankle brachial index score (ABI) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in TNI AD hospital in Kediri. The research design used pre experimental design with post test only design. Meanwhile, the sampling method used purposive sampling. The number of sample was 64 respondents. The researcher used Rank Spearmen as technique of analysis. Based on research results, it was obtained correlation coefficient of 0.631 which indicates the strength of a strong relationship between variables and the significance of 0.000 which smaller than the alpha of 0.05, therefore it could be concluded that the frequency of diabetic foot exercise for 4 weeks in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus had different ABI score. The are some suggestions for the institution and practice of nursing, diabetic foot exercises that can be used as an evidence-based intervention in the management and further evaluation is necessary on a regular basis regarding the patient’s response.
