Evaluasi Kesesuaian Data Satelit untuk Curah Hujan dan Evaporasi Terhadap Data Pengukuran di Kawasan Waduk Sutami

Achmad Arrokhman, Naufal (2021) Evaluasi Kesesuaian Data Satelit untuk Curah Hujan dan Evaporasi Terhadap Data Pengukuran di Kawasan Waduk Sutami. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Sutami Reservoir is a multipurpose reservoir that functions as a provider of raw water, irrigation, flood control, power generation, fishing activities, and tourism activities. Therefore, it is necessary to record complete rainfall data and evaporation data as a basis for regulating reservoir operating patterns, water balance analysis, and others. This is because the amount of rainfall will affect the discharge that enters the reservoir. While evaporation is a determining factor for the amount of water loss that occurs in the reservoir. Along with the times, satellite technology can be used as an alternative to hydrological data to anticipate incompleteness and inaccuracies of observation data. In this study, the authors used rainfall satellite data TRMM 3B42, CHIRPS, and GPM V6. While the evaporation satellite uses GLDAS-2.1 and CFS-V2. Each of these satellites has different specifications and characteristics. The purpose of this study was to evaluate satellite data of rainfall and evaporation with observation data in the Sutami Reservoir Area. Evaluation of satellite data is carried out using simulation model calibration and validation to determine the performance of the satellite. The best results can be known from the values of Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE), Correlation Coefficient (R), and Relative Error (KR). The simulations used are 16 years of calibration (2001-2016) and 3 years of validation (2017-2019), 17 years of calibration (2001-2017) and 2 years of validation (2018-2019), 18 years of calibration (2001-2018) and 1 year of validation (2019). The calibration uses regression analysis to determine the regression equation to be validated using data outside the calibration year. The validation is divided into uncorrected validation and corrected validation. In the corrected validation, the final regression equation is obtained which can be used to correct the satellite data. The best results from the validation can be used to determine rainfall and evaporation satellite recommendations for the study location. The evaluation results of the rainfall satellite show the best validation of TRMM 3B42 with the RMSE, NSE, R, and KR values are 45.419; 0.858; 0.931; 0.724%. The best validation of CHIRPS with RMSE, NSE, R, and KR values are 49.785; 0.864; 0.958; 0.464%. The best validation of GPM V6 with RMSE, NSE, R, and KR values are 48.281; 0.869; 0.944; 0.677%. To determine satellite recommendations can use the best value of NSE and R on three simulations. GPM V6 as much as 43%, TRMM 3B42 as much as 31%, and CHIRPS as much as 26%. Therefore, the GPM V6 rainfall satellite is recommended at the study location. The evaluation results of the evaporation satellite show the best validation of GLDAS-2.1 with RMSE, NSE, R, and KR values are 9.187; 0.684; 0.844; 0.842%. The best validation of CFS-V2 with RMSE, NSE, R, and KR values are 4.976; 0.909; 0.968; 1.174%. The evaporation satellite recommendation is CFS-V2 because has 100% the best result than GLDAS-2.1.
