Indonesian Abstract

Tanaman pare (Momordica charantia L.) ialah tanaman sayuran buah yang tumbuh merambat termasuk dalam keluarga Curcubitaceae. Selain digunakan untuk sayuran, juga memiliki manfaat lainnya dibidang kesehatan manusia. Meskipun manfaatnya begitu besar, namun tanaman pare jarang dibudidayakan. Banyaknya khasiat pada tanaman pare mengakibatkan perlunya budidaya dan peningkatan produksi tanaman pare. Peningkatan produksi sayuran pare dapat dilakukan dengan cara mengaplikasikan biofertilizer, salah satunya Plant Growth Promoting Rizobacteria (PGPR). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi serta waktu aplikasi PGPR yang tepat dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pare. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah konsentrasi PGPR dipengaruhi oleh waktu aplikasi PGPR dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pare. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan kebun percobaan Universitas Brawijaya di Desa Jatikerto, Kecamatan Kromengan Kabupaten Malang yang terletak pada ketinggian 303 m di atas permukaan laut dengan suhu rata-rata 27-29°C dan curah hujan 120 mm/bulan. Kegiatan penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April - Agustus 2018. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial, terdapat 9 perlakuan dan 1 kontrol serta setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali, sehingga seluruhnya 30 satuan percobaan. Faktor pertama terdiri konsentrasi PGPR yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 5 ml/liter, 10 ml/liter dan 15 ml/liter. Faktor kedua ialah waktu pemberian PGPR yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 2 kali aplikasi (0 HST, 14 HST), 2 kali aplikasi (7 HST, 21 HST) dan 3 kali aplikasi (0 HST, 14 HST, 28 HST).Variabel pengamatan meliputi panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah buah per tanaman, panjang buah, diameter buah, bobot segar per buah, bobot segar buah per tanaman, bobot segar buah per hekta, dan fruit set. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan menggunakan uji F pada taraf 5% untuk mengetahui pengaruh masing – masing perlakuan. Perlakuan yang berpengaruh nyata pada uji F kemudian diuji lanjut dengan BNT pada taraf 5% untuk mengetahui di antara perlakuan yang ada. Perbedaan pengaruh antara kontrol dan kombinasi perlakuan dianalisis dengan Ortogonal Kontras pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara konsentrasi dan waktu aplikasi PGPR terhadap panjang tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah buah, bobot segar buah per tanaman dan bobot segar buah per hektar. Pemberian konsentrasi 15 ml/liter dengan tiga kali waktu aplikasi memberikan hasil yang terbaik. Pemberian konsentrasi PGPR 15 ml/liter meningkatkan luas daun, jumlah bunga, fruit set, diameter buah, panjang buah dan bobot segar buah. Waktu aplikasi PGPR sebanyak 3 kali memberikan pengaruh pada jumlah bunga dan luas daun 60 HST. Pada seluruh parameter pengamatan, berdasarkan hasil analisis ortogonal kontras pemberian perlakuan berpengaruh nyata lebih besar dibanding kontrol.

English Abstract

Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.) is a fruit vegetable that grows in the vines included in the Curcubitaceae family. Besides being used for vegetables, it also has other benefits in the field of human health. Although the benefits are so great, but bitter gourd are rarely cultivated. The many properties of bitter gourd plants lead to the need for cultivation and increased production of bitter gourd. Increasing the production of bitter gourd can be done by applying biofertilizer, one of which is Plant Growth Promoting Rizobacteria (PGPR). This study aims to obtain the right concentration and time of application of PGPR in increasing the growth and yield of bitter gourd. The hypothesis of this study is the concentration of PGPR is influenced by the time of application of PGPR in increasing the growth and yield of bitter gourd. The reseach was conducted in the experimental garden area of Universitas Brawijaya in Jatikerto Village, Kromengan Subdistrict, Malang Regency which is located at an altitude of 303 m above sea level with an average temperature of 27-29 ° C and rainfall of 120 mm / month. The research activity was carried out in April - August 2018. The research design used factorial randomized block design (RBD), there were 9 treatments and 1 control and each treatment was repeated 3 times, so that a total of 30 experimental units. The first factor consisted of PGPR concentrations consisting of 3 levels namely 5 ml / liter, 10 ml / liter and 15 ml / liter. The second factor is the time of administration of PGPR which consists of 3 levels, namely 2 times of application (0 HST, 14 HST), 2 times of application (7 HST, 21 HST) and 3 times of application (0 HST, 14 HST, 28 HST). Observation variables include plant length, number of leaves, leaf area, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, fresh weight per fruit, fresh weight of fruit per plant, fresh weight of fruit per hectare, and fruit set. The data obtained were processed using the F test at 5% level to determine the effect of each treatment. The treatments that significantly affected the F test were then further tested with LSD at the 5% level to find out among the treatments. The difference in effect between control and treatment combination was analyzed with Orthogonal Contrast at a level of 5%. The results showed that there were interactions between PGPR concentration and application time on plant length, number of leaves, number of fruits, fresh weight of fruit per plant and fresh weight of fruit per hectare. Concentration of 15 ml / liter with three times the application time gives the best results. PGPR concentration of 15 ml / liter increases leaf area, number of flowers, fruit set, fruit diameter, fruit length and fresh fruit weight. PGPR application time 3 times has an influence on the number of flowers and leaf area of 60 HST. For all observational parameters, based on the results of orthogonal analysis, the contrast of treatment gave significantly greater effect than control.
