Indonesian Abstract

Nyamuk culex sp merupakan salah satu vektor yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai macam penyakit seperti, Filariasis, Japanese encephalitis, dan West nile virus. Pemberantasan nyamuk Culex sp membutuhkan insektisida nabati yang aman bagi manusia dan lingkungan. Daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) mengandung senyawa kimia yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai insektisida nabati, senyawa yang terkandung dalam daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) yaitu alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, dan minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan unutuk mengetahui potensi dekok daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) sebagai insektisida terhadap nyamuk Culex sp. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah nyamuk Culex sp. Konsentrasi_yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini_adalah 37,5%, 50%, 62,5% dan dilakukan pengulangan sebanyak 4 kali kemudian diamati pada jam ke-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, dan 24. Analisis data mengggunakan uji alternatif non parametrik yaitu uji Kruskal Wallis). Dari hasil Uji Mann Whitney didapatkan pemberian Transfultrin (kontrol positif) menghasilkan jumlah kematian yang paling tinggi dan berbeda signifikan dengan pemberian Aquadest (kontrol negatif),pemberian konsentrasi 37,5% dan 50% tidak berbeda signifikan dengan dengan konsentrasi 62,5%. Sedangkan pemberian Aquadest (kontrol negatif) menghasilkan jumlah kematian paling rendah dan berbeda signifikan dengan semua perlakuan. LT50 dekok daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) terhadap kematian nyamuk Culex sp pada konsentrasi 37,5% adalah sekitar jam ke-3 sampai jam ke-8, kemudian untuk konsentrasi 50% adalah sekitar 1 jam sampai 4 jam, sedangkan konsentrasi 62,5% adalah sekitar 1 jam sampai 2 jam. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini dekok daun beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) mempunyai potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap nyamuk Culex sp.

English Abstract

Culex sp mosquito is one if the vector that could caseb various diseases such as filariasis, Japanese encephalitis, and West nile virus. A safe botanical insecticide towards human and environment is required to eradicate Culex sp mosquitos. Beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) leaves contains chemical compounds that can be used as the substance to make the botanical insecticide, which known to contain beneficial substances like alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, and essential oil. The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the potential of beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) leaves dekok as insecticide on Culex sp mosquitoes. Studies were performed on Culex sp mosquitoes as sample. The concentrations used in this study were 37.5%, 50%, 62.5% and repeated four times, then observed at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 24 hours. Data analysis using non-parametric alternative tests, namely the Kruskal Wallis test. The results of the Mann Whitney Test obtained the administration of Transfultrin (positive control) resulted in the highest number of deaths and significantly different from the administration of Aquadest (negative control), the administration of concentrations of 37.5% and 50% were not significantly different from 62.5%. While the administration of Aquadest (negative control) resulted in the lowest number of deaths and was significantly different from all treatments. LT50 (Lethal time) of beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) leaves dekok against Culex sp mortality at concentration of 37.5% was around the 3rd-8th hours, then the concentration of 50% is about 1-4 hours, while the concentration of 62.5% is about 1-2 hours. The conclusion of this research is that the leaves of beluntas (Pluchea indica Less) have the potential as an insecticide against the Culex sp.
