Method: This research was conducted by analytic survey method with cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were 42 children and parents. The sampling technique is done by non-probability sampling by total sampling. Data collection methods using the results of dental examination with DMFT index, def-t and PHP and questionnaires. Results: Most children have a moderate PHP Index level of 48%, a low DMF-T level of 52% and a very high def-t rate of 45%. The role of mothers is classified as good at 33% and the role of fathers is classified as not good at 50%. Subsequent analysis uses the Kruskal Wallis test with results on the overall role of the mother obtained p value = 0.003 (p <0.05), meaning that the role of the mother gives effect to the child's oral health. The role of the father obtained value p = 0.492 (p> 0.05), meaning that the role of the father does not affect the oral health of children. Conclusion: There is an influence of the role of parents, especially mothers, on the oral health of grade 1 children of Malang City Elementary School.
