Abstract
Dimorfisme seksual pada ukuran morfologi gigi dapat dipengaruhi oleh gender dan usia. Perbedaan ukuran morfologi pada gigi laki-laki dan perempuan tersebut disebabkan karena terdapat perbedaan efek growth-promoting oleh kromosom Y dan kromosom X. Tujuan: Menganalisa dimorfisme seksual pada tinggi dan lebar enamel gigi desidui dilihat dari gambaran radiografik panoramik. Metode: Studi observasional dengan pendekatan antropometri ini dilakukan dengan menghitung tinggi dan lebar enamel pasien anak laki-laki dan perempuan berusia 5-11 tahun. Pengukuran dilakukan pada seluruh gigi caninus, molar 1 dan molar 2, baik rahang atas maupun rahang bawah, baik regio kanan maupun regio kiri dengan jumlah masing-masing gigi 30 foto gigi anak laki-laki dan 30 foto gigi anak perempuan. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan aplikasi Cliniview kemudian dilakukan pencatatan hasil pengukuran lalu dilakukan uji statistik terhadap hasil pengukuran. Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pada hasil ukuran tinggi dan lebar enamel gigi caninus, molar 1, dan molar 2 anak laki-laki dan perempuan pada uji independent t-test (signifikansi p<0.05). Kesimpulan: Hasil pengukuran pada tinggi dan lebar enamel gigi desidui caninus, molar 1, dan molar 2, baik pada rahang atas maupun rahang bawah, baik regio kanan maupun kiri antara anak laki-laki dan perempuan, didapatkan bahwa ukuran tinggi dan lebar enamel lebih besar pada anak laki-laki dibandingkan anak perempuan secara keseluruhan.
English Abstract
Sexual dimorphism in morphology of tooth size might be affected by gender and age. The difference in morphology of tooth size between the boys and girls might be caused by the difference in growth-promoting effect of Y-chromosome and X-chromosome. Purpose: The aim of this study is to analyze sexual dimorphism in enamel height and enamel width of deciduous teeth using panoramy radiographic. Methods: This observational study with anthropometric approached were done by measuring the enamel height and enamel width of patient with age range 5-11 y.o boys and girls. The measurement were done on all of canines and molars, both on maxilla and mandibula, both on right and left region with the total of each tooth are 30 photos of boys and 30 photos of girls. The measurement were done using the application of Cliniview and then the result were noted and after that were analyzed using the statistical test. Results: The result of this study shows the differences on enamel height and enamel width of canines and molars between the boys and girls at the independent t-test (significance p<0.050). Conclusions: The measurement at the enamel width and enamel height of deciduous canines, and molars both on maxilla and mandibula, both on right and left region, are that the enamel width and enamel height were overall greater in boys compared with the girls.
