Kardikadewi, Varellia Awang Wangi (2019) Pengaruh Gelatin Ikan Patin (Pangasius djambal) terhadap ekspresi Epidermal Growth Factor pada luka pasca pencabutan gigi tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
A tooth extraction process often causes injury both in soft and hard tissue. When a wound occurs, several growth factors are released together with other inflammatory mediators, one of them is EGF to help the wound healing process. Gelatine is known to have a lot of amino acid glycine that plays an important role in wound healing process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of patin fish (Pangasius djambal) gelatin to the number of EGF expression in wound after white rat’s (Rattus norvegicus) tooth extraction. There were six samples groups in this study, consisting of the control groups (K) and the treatment groups (P) on third, fifth and seventh days after the tooth extraction. The samples were stained using immunohistochemical methods and continued with observing the EGF expressions using a light microscope with 400x magnification. After getting the average number of EGF expressions, the next step is doing an analysis using one way ANOVA method and can be found a significant difference between the number of EGF expression in control and treatment groups, there were the lowest EGF expression number was found in the third day of the control group while the highest EGF expression number was found in the seventh day of the treatment group. The conclusion of this study is the patin fish (Pangasius djambal) gelatin has an effect to increase the number of EGF expression in wound after white rat’s (Rattus norvegicus) tooth extraction.
