Ditiagary, Selvananda (2018) Hubungan Waist-to-Hip Ratio (WHR) dengan Glukosa Darah Puasa terhadap Risiko Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di Posyandu Lansia RW 10 Merjosari, Kota Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

English Abstract

The increased waist-to-hip ratio reflect the accumulation of intra-abdominal fat which is associated with incrased risk of several chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of the study is analyze the correlation of waist-to-hip ratio to the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus with using parameters of fasting blood glucose levels. This research is a cross sectional study involving 58 respondents aged ≥ 45 years and not diagnosed with diabetes which is located in Malang and obtained by convenience sampling. The variables in the study are waist-to-hip ratio and fasting blood glucose levels. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation. Result of the research indicated that based on waist-to-hip ratio, most of respondents (63,8%) categorized as at risk. Based on fasting blood glucose levels, most of respondents (89,7%) were in the normal category. The conclusion in this study is that WHR is not one of the risk factors that affect type 2 diabetes patients in Posyandu Lansia RW 10, Merjosari, Malang.
