Abstract
Menulis adalah salah satu keterampilan produktif setelah keterampilan berbicara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks recount dengan menggunakan kalimat acak. Ada tiga masalah yang ditemukan selama studi pendahuluan di SMK PGRI 3 Malang. Masalah-masalah tersebut adalah mengekspresikan ide, menggunakan tata bahasa dan mengatur paragraf. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas satu Teknik Sepeda Motor A SMK PGRI 3 Malang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan satu siklus. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan tes. Kriteria keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah persentase siswa 70% harus sama atau lebih besar skor 75 sebagai nilai kelulusan minimum (KKM). Penelitian ini menggunakan lima langkah dalam mengimplementasikan kalimat acak yaitu; a. baca semua kalimat yang acak, b. mengidentifikasi orientasi atau kalimat topik, c. cari acara atau ceritanya, d. mengidentifikasi orientasi ulang atau kesimpulan, e. mengidentifikasi struktur bahasa seperti kata kerja, kata keterangan dan kata hubung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis dengan menggunakan kalimat acak. Para siswa dapat mengatasi kesulitan mereka dalam mengekspresikan ide, tata bahasa, dan struktur teks recount. Hasil skor persentase siswa dalam pra-tes adalah 38% dari siswa memenuhi KKM. Setelah post test, skor mereka meningkat dan ada 88% siswa mendapat nilai 75 atau lebih. Siswa lulus skor minimal dan mencapai kriteria keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini. Peneliti menyarankan kepada guru untuk menggunakan kalimat campur acak sebagai model dalam proses belajar mengajar menulis. Hal ini dapat membantu siswa untuk memahami fitur bahasa, struktur teks, dan isi teks. Sementara itu untuk penelitian lebih lanjut, peneliti menyarankan untuk menggunakan kalimat acak pada subjek yang berbeda atau keterampilan yang berbeda, atau genre teks yang berbeda.
English Abstract
Writing is one of productive skill after speaking skill. This research is aimed at improving the students’ ability in writing recount text by using jumbled sentences. There were three problems found during preliminary study in SMK PGRI 3 Malang. Those problems are in expressing ideas, in using grammar and in organizing the paragraph. This research was conducted at first grade Teknik Sepeda Motor A class students of SMK PGRI 3 Malang. The subjects of this research were of 27 students. In this research, the researcher used Classroom Action Research design with one cycle. The instruments used were observation sheet, interview guide, and test. The criteria of the success in this research were 70% students’ percentage has to equal or greater 75 score as minimum passing grade (KKM). This research used five steps in implementing jumbled sentences which were; a. read all of the jumbled sentences, b. identify the orientation or topic sentences, c. find the event or the story, d. identify the re-orientation or the conclusion, e. identify the language feature such as verb, adverb and conjunction. The result showed that there was an improvement in students’ ability in writing by using jumbled sentences. The students were able to overcome their difficulties in expressing ideas, grammar, and generic structure of recount text. The result of the students’ percentages score in pre-test was 38% of the students meet KKM. After the post test, their score increased and there is 88% of the students got 75 or above. It means that the students passing the minimal score and reached the criteria of the success in this research. The researcher suggested the teacher to use jumbled sentences as a model in teaching and learning writing process. It can help students to understand the language feature, generic structure, and the content of the text. Meanwhile for the further research, the researcher suggests to use jumbled sentences at different subject or different skill, or different genre of text.
