Indonesian Abstract

Game menjadi salah satu ranah hiburan terbesar dalam abad milenial ini. Namun walau demikian game masih saja menjadi ranah yang rentan akan isu-isu ketidaksetaraan, khususnya pada kategori gender. Dalam berbagai banyak game, kategori (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) MMORPG menjadi salah satu penyumbang isu terbanyak akan masalah tersebut, yang dimana berfokus pada isu pengeksploitasian tubuh perempuan sebagai media penarik massa dan komoditi penjualan. Hal ini membuat gamers khususnya yang berjenis kelamin laki-laki menjadi semakin tertarik dan kecanduan akan game MMORPG yang berbau konten sensualitas perempuan. Dengan efek bluring reality yang muncul seiring dengan kecanduan bermain, hal ini mendorong pada aktivitas asusila yaitu tindakan pelecehan seksual kepada perempuan oleh laki-laki pemain game. Berdasarkan akan hal tersebut, peneliti melakukan penelitian untuk mengukur apakah intensitas bermain game porno dapat menghasilkan tindakan pelecehan seksual pula. Peneltian menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif inferensial, yang dimana uji korelasi menggunakan korelasi rank Spearman. Kusioner yang dibuat oleh peneliti berskala Likert dan disebarkan secara online melalui media Google form. Dari ke-113 responden yang bersedia mengisi kuisioner, menunjukan bahwa adanya keterhubungan antara kedua variabel uji penelitian, yaitu adanya hubungan korelasi antara intensitas memainkan game online sensual terhadap tingkat tindakan pelecehan seksual gamers laki-laki. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hubungan antara kedua variabel yang bersifat kuat yaitu sebesar 0,627.

English Abstract

Game is one of the biggest market in consolation industry, specially in this Milenial Era. Even though so, gaming industry known as it’s furnelablity in equalitation issues. Spesificlly in gender equalitation Issues. In gaming industry online game such as (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) MMORPG contribute severly in gender equalitation issues, game such MMORPG contribute severly in gender equalitation issues because of it’s role where it uses female physique which they modify into something very sexualized to attract more players to play the game, specially male gamers. This ‘trickery’ succeed attract more male players and succeed to increase the profit the marketing value of the game itself. This phonemon can be the one of the main reason why male gamers do sexual harassment to women. Based on that note, researcher conduct a research to find a correlation between intensity of playing over sexualized online video game to levels of sexual harassments that male gamers do to women. This reaserch using a quantitative research methodology, specificly in inferensial quantitative research, which for further analysis researcher using a Spearman’s correlation method. This research was done by distributing the questionnaire that the researcher made via online by google form features. The questionnaire was made using Likert scale to collect the data. Based on 113 respondents that are willing to fill the questionnaire shows that there is a correlation between intensity of plaing over sexualized online video games to levels of sexual harassments that male gamers do to women. The connections between two research variables are amplified by this research correlation signification number that is 0,627 which implies that the correlation between two research variable are strong.
