Indonesian Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang perkembangan seni grafis selama satu dekade di Malang Raya (tahun 2010-2019). Kesenirupaan Malang Raya berperan dalam perkembangan senirupa Indonesia, dan melahirkan seniman yang berdaya saing nasional bahkan internasional.Namun hal tersebut tidak cukup membuat eksistensi Grafis dikenali, bahkan eksistensi seni grafis kurang popular jika dibandingkan seni lukis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perkembangan seni grafis di Malang Raya beserta faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan seni grafis dalam medan sosial seni. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Heidegger tentang eksistensi yang diarahkan pada makna yang mengada ‘makna ada yang mengada’. Artur Danto tentang Art World yang menyatakan bahwa melihat sesuatu tentang seni membutuhkan atmosfir teori artistik, pengetahuan sejarah dalam seni:art world. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dilapangan, eksistensi seni grafis Malang Raya sudah ada bersamaan dengan perkembangan seni grafis di Indonesia, akan tetapi setelah pelaku seni grafis di Malang hijrah ke kota lain seni grafis kurang begitu terdengar di Malang Raya. Eksistensi seni grafis di Malang Raya sangat kurang karena pelaku grafis yang sangat minim dan karya lukis lebih mendominasi. Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh seperti alat dan bahan yang kurang memadai, popularitas seni grafis, keotentikan atau eksklusif, nilai yang dimiliki tidak sama dengan proses, pasar dan kurangnya sosialisasi.

English Abstract

This study discussewls the graphic art development within one decade in Malang Raya (in 2010-2019). The Malang Raya's fine art takes role in the development of Indonesia's fine art. It has introduced Indonesian artists with international quality. However, it is not enough to support graphic's existence, even the graphic art's existence is not as popular as painting art. This study aims at describing how graphic art has developed in Malang Raya as well as the factors affecting the development of graphic art in the field of social art. This study used Heidegger's theory about the existence linking to the 'made up meaning'. In addition, Artur Danto's theory about Art World which stated that seeing art needs artistic theories atmosphere, the knowledge about history of art: art world. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative and the collecting data techniques were observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the result on the field, graphic art of Malang Raya has been existing along with the Indonesia's graphic art development. However, the Malang Raya's graphic art has not been really recognized since the graphic artists of Malang moved to other cities. The Malang Raya's graphic art lacks its popularity due to the small number of the artists and moreover, the painting art dominates more. The other factors that affect are the lack of tools and materials, authenticity and exclusiveness, the unbalance of value and process, market and less socialization.
