Indonesian Abstract

Letusan Gunung Kelud pada tahun 2014 berdampak pada lahan pertanian di Kecamatan Ngantang. Bahan letusan yang masih segar memiliki ketersediaan hara yang rendah dan berpotensi tinggi terjadi kehilangan hara akibat tekstur tanah yang kasar. Guna mencegah kehilangan hara dalam tanah, diperlukan bahan pendamping pupuk yang mampu menyimpan sementara dan melepaskan kembali hara sehingga pemupukan menjadi efisien. Pemberian zeolit yang dikombinasikan dengan dosis pupuk anorganik diharapkan dapat meningkatkan ketersediaan hara dan serapan hara dalam mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman jagung. Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah kaca, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang selama 6 bulan (November-April 2018). Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 12 unit percobaan. Perlakuan berupa kombinasi dosis pupuk anorganik 100%, 70%, dan 40% dari dosis anjuran (400 kg ha-1 Urea, 150 kg ha-1 SP-36, dan 75 kg ha-1 KCl) serta zeolit (10 t ha-1). Pupuk anorganik diberikan pada 7 HST, 21 HST, dan 35 HST. Pertumbuhan tanaman (tinggi dan diameter batang) diamati pada tiap minggu. Sifat kimia tanah (pH, KTK, C-organik, N total, P tersedia, K tersedia) dan serapan hara N, P, K tanaman jagung dianalisa pada awal dan akhir percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kombinasi pupuk anorganik dan zeolit berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap KTK, C-organik, residu P tersedia tanah, serapan N dan serapan K tanaman namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pH, residu N total, residu K tersedia tanah dan serapan P tanaman. Pemberian zeolit pada dosis 100% pupuk anorganik meningkatkan serapan N (26%) dan efisiensi pemupukan N (25%) serta serapan P (11%) dan efisiensi pemupukan P (10%), tetapi tidak pada serapan K dan efisiensi pemupukan K. Pemberian zeolit pada dosis 70% pupuk anorganik meningkatkan serapan P (22%) dan efisiensi pemupukan P (29%), tetapi tidak meningkatkan serapan serta efisiensi pemupukan N dan K. Pemberian zeolit pada dosis 40% pupuk anorganik meningkatkan serapan P (22%) dan efisiensi pemupukan P (51%) serta serapan K sebesar (5%) dan efisiensi pemupukan K (67%), tetapi tidak meningkatkan serapan N dan efisiensi pemupukan N. Pemberian zeolit pada dosis 40% pupuk anorganik meningkatkan tinggi tanaman pada 14-63 HST dan diameter batang pada 14-49 HST.

English Abstract

Mount Kelud eruption in 2014 had an impact on agricultural land in Ngantang District. Erupted materials has a low nutrient availability and high potential loss of nutrient due its coarse texture. To solve this problem, amandment is necessary to add when inorganic fertilizer is applied. This research was then conducted to study the effect of zeolite with various dosage of inorganic fertilizer on soil chemical properties and crop growth. This research was conducted in the greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang for 6 months (November-April 2018). The research was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting 4 treatments with 3 replications to obtain 12 experimental units. The treatments were consisted various dosage of inorganic fertilizer (100%, 70%, and 40% of recommended dosage 400 kg ha-1 Urea, 150 kg ha-1 SP-36, and 75 kg ha-1 KCl) in combination with zeolite (10 t ha-1). Inorganic fertilizer was applied at 7 DAP, 21 DAP, and 35 DAP. Crop growth (height and stem diameter) was measured every week. Soil chemical properties (pH, CEC, C-organic, N total residues, P available residues, K available residues) and N uptake, P uptake, K uptake of corn plants were analyzed at the end of vegetative period (77 DAP). The results showed that the combination of inorganic fertilizer and zeolite had very significant effect on CEC, C-organic, P available residues, N uptake, also K uptake and had unsignificant effect on pH, N total residues, K available residues, and P uptake of corn plants. Application of zeolite had positif impacts, even the rate of inorganic fertilizer decreased to 40%. At the rate of 100% inorganic fertilizer, adding zeolite increased N uptake (26%), P uptake (11%), but not increased K uptake, and hence N (25%) and P (10%) efficiency, but not K efficiency. But while at the rate of 70% inorganic fertilizer, zeolite increased P uptake (22%), but not increased N and K uptake, and hence P (29%) efficiency but not N and K efficiency. Surprisingly, application of zeolite at the dosage 40% inorganic fertilizer, still increased P uptake (22%) and K uptake (5%), but not increased N uptake, and hence P (51%) and K (67%) efficiency, but not N efficiency. At the rate of 40% inorganic fertilizer, zeolite increased corn growth such as plant height at 14-63 DAP and stem diameter at 14-49 DAP.
