Indonesian Abstract

Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) merupakan suatu rangkaian proses pengurangan beban pencemar yang terdapat didalam air limbah. IPAL sangat dibutuhkan untuk kegiatan-kegiatan yang menghasilkan air limbah dengan kandungan bahan pencemar tinggi yang angkanya melebihi standar baku mutu yang ditentukan pemerintah. Salah satu limbah cair yang harus diperhatikan adalah limbah cair dari kegiatan peternakan sapi. Standar baku mutu untuk air limbah cair hewan ternak sapi tercantum pada Peraturan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 11 Tahun 2009 tentang Baku Mutu Air Limbah bagi Usaha dan/atau Kegiatan Peternakan Sapi dan Babi. Perencanaan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) cair hewan ternak sapi pada penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu rumah di Desa Argosari, Kecamatan Jabung, Kabupaten Malang. Meskipun limbah padat sapi sudah dimanfaatkan untuk biogas, namun limbah cair sapi yang terdapat di peternakan ini masih dibuang secara langsung ke saluran drainase. Tahap awal perencanaan IPAL dimulai dari analisa kualitas air limbah dengan parameter yang sesuai dengan aturan pemerintah. Pada hasil pengujian kualitas air limbah, kandungan BOD sebesar 4488 mg/L, COD sebesar 11000 mg/L, TSS sebesar 850,5 mg/L, NH3-N sebesar 479,3, dan pH sebesar 8,5. Dari perbandingan hasil pengujian kualitas air limbah dengan standar baku mutu air limbah, hanya parameter pH yang sesuai atau tidak melebihi standar baku mutu. Sedangkan 4 parameter lainnya masih melebihi standar baku mutu air limbah. Dengan diketahui debit air limbah cair yaitu sebesar 900 liter/hari dan analisa kualitas air limbah, maka dapat ditentukan proses pengolahan IPAL yang digunakan. Perencanaan IPAL pada penelitian ini menggunakan sistem biofilter aerob, yang didalam rangkaian proses pengolahannya terdapat bak pengendap awal, bak biofilter aerob dan bak pengendap akhir. Didalam bak biofilter aerob diisi media biofilter sarang tawon dan supply udara. Setelah melalui proses pengolahan didalam IPAL kandungan BOD menjadi 80,78 mg/L dan COD menjadi 198 mg/L. Sedangkan TSS 5,10 mg/L dan NH3-N 23,96 mg/L. Perkiraan kualitas effluent tersebut sudah sesuai atau tidak melebihi standar baku mutu air limbah yang ditentukan. Sedangkan rencana anggaran biaya yang dibutuhkan untuk pembangunan IPAL cair hewan ternak sapi pada penelitian ini yaitu sebesar Rp 10.241.382,-

English Abstract

Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) is a series of processes to reduce the pollutant load contained in wastewater. WWTP is needed for activities that produce wastewater with a high content of pollutants whose numbers exceed the quality standards set by the government. One of the liquid wastes that must be considered is liquid waste from cattle farming activities. Quality standards for wastewater for cattle are listed in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment Number 11 of 2009 concerning Waste Water Quality Standards for Cattle and Pig Farming Businesses and/or Activities. The design of cattle wastewater treatment plant in this study was carried out in one of the houses in Argosari Village, Jabung Sub-district, Malang District. Even though cattle solid waste has been utilized for biogas, however, cattle liquid waste contained in this farm is still disposed directly into the drainage channel. The initial stage of the WWTP planning starts from analyzing the quality of wastewater with parameters that are in accordance with government regulations. On the results of testing the quality of wastewater, the BOD content is 4488 mg/L, COD is 11000 mg/L, TSS is 850,5 mg/L, NH3-N is 479,3, and pH is 8,5. From the comparison of the results of testing the quality of wastewater with waste water quality standards, only the pH parameters that are appropriate or not exceed the quality standard. While the other 4 parameters still exceed the waste water quality standard. By knowing the liquid waste water that is equal to 900 liters/day and analyzing the quality of wastewater, it can be concluded about the wastewater treatment plant that will be used. The design of wastewater treatment plant in this study uses an aerobic biofilter system, which in the process there is an initial settling basin, aerobic biofilter basin and a final settling basin. In an aerobic biofilter basin, it is filled with a honeycomb biofilter media and air supply. After going through the treatment process in WWTP, BOD content became 80,78 mg/L and COD became 198 mg/L. While TSS became 5,10 mg/L and NH3-N became 23,96 mg/L. The estimated quality of the effluent is in accordance with or does not exceed the specified wastewater quality standard. While the budget plan needed for the design of cattle waste water treatment system in this study is Rp. 10.241.382,-
