Indonesian Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui bentuk preferensi burung untuk memilih jenis tetumbuhan yang dihinggapinya di TPAWE Talangagung dan mengetahui spesies penyusun vegetasi di TPAWE yang didatangi burung. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai Desember 2016. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan metode Visual Encounter Survey (VES). Pengamatan dilakukan pada lima jenis pohon yaitu Kersen (Muntingia calabura), Trembesi (Samanea saman), Sengon Laut (Albizia falcataria), Waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus), dan Jati (Tectona grandis), masing-masing selama 15 menit. Waktu pengamatan yakni pagi (06:00 - 07:35), siang (10:35 - 11:30 dan 12:30 - 13:05), dan sore (13:55 - 15:30) dengan ulangan berupa jumlah hari. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara statistik deskriptif. Data meliputi jenis burung, jumlah, waktu, dan aktivitas beserta tempat beraktivitasnya (estimasi ketinggian tempat tersebut dari permukaan tanah). Data diolah dengan Microsoft Excel 2007 dan Principal Component Analysis (PCA) pada program Past3. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan terdapat 14 jenis burung dalam 12 famili. 14 jenis waktu pagi, 9 jenis waktu siang, dan 9 jenis waktu sore. Niche ekologis dominan ialah insectivora. Urutan potensi menarik kedatangan burung ialah Sengon, Waru, Trembesi, Kersen, dan terakhir Jati.

English Abstract

The objective of this reseach are to get information about plant species that prefer to be used as perching site of birds and to determine which species in vegetation that preferable for birds in TPAWE Talangagung. Research was done at August to December 2016. Visual Encounter Survey method is used to observe perching site preference for five tree species, which are Calabur Tree Muntingia calabura, Rain Tree Samanea saman, Moluccan Albizia Albizia falcataria, Sea Hibiscus Hibiscus tiliaceus, and Teak Tectona grandis. Identification of bird has been done visually or using bird’s songs, calls, and nest shape if possible. Observation has been done for 15 minutes each tree species. There are three observation periode : morning (06:00 - 07:35), midday (10:35 - 11:30 and 12:30 - 13:05), and afternoon (13:55 - 15:30). Data analysis was done using descriptive statistic. Data includes species of birds, amount, time, and activity along with their location (height estimated from the ground level). Data is processed with Microsoft Excel 2007 and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on Past3. The results showed 14 bird species in 12 families: 14 species at morning, 9 species at midday, and 9 species at afternoon. The dominant ecological niche is insectivora. The sequence of potential for attracting birds is Moluccan Albizia, Sea Hibiscus, Rain Tree, Calabur Tree, and Teak.
