Indonesian Abstract

Karsinoma nasofarings(KNF) adalah tumorsganas invasif dan adalah kanker terbanyak ke-4 di Indonesia. KNF memiliki potensi tinggi untuk bermetastasis ke kelenjar limfe leher dan organ jauh lain. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah observasional analitik dengan design cross sectional yang bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan ekspresi miR-9 jaringan dan E-cadherin jaringan dengan ukuran nodul leher pada pasien KNF WHO tipe 3 dengan LMP-1. Data diambil secara consecutive sampling dari 26 pasien KNF yang belum menjalani terapi di RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Sampel jaringan diperoleh melalui biopsi nasofaring yang dilakukan dengan tuntunan nasoendoskopi. Ukuran nodul dan karakteristik sampel di dapatkan dari data logbook pasien kanker poli THT. Ekspresi E-cadherin jaringan diukur menggunakan metode imunohistokimia dan ekspresi miRNA-9 jaringan diukur menggunakan qPCR. Analisis korelasi spearman yang dilakukan menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan signifikan antara ekspresi miR-9 jaringan dengan ukuran nodul leher pada pasien KNF WHO tipe 3 dengan LMP-1 Positif (r= -0.211, p= 0,3). Analisis korelasi spearman menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara ekspresi E-Cadherin dengan ukuran nodul leher pada pasien KNF WHO tipe 3 dengan LMP-1 Positif (r= -0.488, p= 0,011).

English Abstract

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is an invasive malignant tumor and is the 4th most common cancer in Indonesia. NPC has high potential to metastasize to the lymph nodes of the neck and other distant organs. The design of this study is observational analytic with cross sectional design which is aimed to find the relationship between the expression of tissue miR-9 and the expression of tissue E-cadherin with the size of metastatic neck nodules in WHO type 3 NPC patients with LMP-1. The data was taken using consecutive sampling technique from 26 NPC patients who had not yet undergone therapy at RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Tissue samples were obtained through nasopharyngeal biopsy performed by nasoendoscopic guidance. Nodule size and sample characteristics were obtained from the logbook of ENT cancer patients. E-cadherin tissue expression was measured using immunohistochemistry and miRNA-9 tissue expression was measured using qPCR. Spearman correlation analysis conducted found that there was no significant relationship between miR-9 tissue expression and the size of neck nodule in WHO type 3 NPC patients with Positive LMP-1 (r= -0.211, p= 0,3).
