Indonesian Abstract

Reduced energy reserves that occurred in Indonesia today, it needed a new source of alternative energy. Biogas is one of the alternative energy sources. Purification of biogas done to remove the impurities (inhibitor) on biogas such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). In the process of purification chosen liquid NaOH because NaOH as absorbent material is highly reactive with CO2. The formation of liquid NaOH is by mixing NaOH flakes with pure water. The concentration of NaOH in the solution is something that affects the absorption of CO2, so the study was conducted to determine the CO2 absorption NaOH using NaOH concentration of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% of the time with the same absorption for 60 minutes and content measured every 15 minutes. Absorption method used is missed biogas in the NaOH solution. The results showed that the absorption by using 50% NaOH concentration produces the highest CO2 absorption with the lowest CO2 content and the highest content of CH4. Measurements are shown in the first 15 minutes of NaOH 50% yield CO2 content 17.1%, NaOH 40% yield 18.2% CO2, 30% NaOH resulted in the 20.8% CO2, 20% NaOH produces 21.4% CO2, 10% NaOH yield 25.6% CO2 and CH4 content of 50% NaOH at 77.8%, 40% NaOH 77%, 30% NaOH at 74.3%, amounting to 70.2 20% NaOH, 10% NaOH at 67.9% the porous stone tools without purification. While the purification devices using porous rock CO2 content in 50% NaOH at 5.7%, NaOH 40% of 6%, 30% NaOH 7.1%, NaOH 20% of 8.1%, NaOH 10% of 8, 9% and the content of CH4 in 50% NaOH at 92.4%, 40% NaOH at 91.2%, 30% NaOH at 90.2%, 20% NaOH at 86.4%, 10% NaOH at 83.1% .
