Indonesian Abstract

Keterampilan berdiskusi diajarkan di kelas XI bertujuan untuk melatih siswa memecahkan suatu permasalahan bersama kelompok. Kenyataannya ditemukan permasalahan dalam pembelajaran berdiskusi di kelas XI APK 3 SMK PGRI 2 Kediri. Guru tidak memberikan bacaan yang seharusnya menjadi bahan diskusi. Akibatnya siswa mengalami kesulitan menyampaikan gagasan; siswa tidak dapat menyanggah pendapat kelompok lain; serta siswa kesulitan menyimpulkan hasil diskusi berdasarkan fakta, data, dan opini. Penelitian ini menggunakan media poster karena berisi petunjuk kerja, bacaan mengenai permasalahan yang memuat nilai toleransi, dan penugasan. Selain itu, media yang digunakan berbasis nilai karakter toleransi karena siswa dapat mengembangkan nilai karakter toleransi pada saat berdiskusi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berdiskusi siswa dengan media poster berbasis nilai karakter toleransi dari segi (1) ketepatan dan kelancaran penyampaian gagasan, menyanggah pendapat, dan menyimpulkan hasil diskusi, (2) ketepatan bahasa, (3) menghargai mitra bicara. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kualitatif dengan model PTK Hopkins. Data penelitian diperoleh dari hasil observasi guru dan hasil tes kinerja berdiskusi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif yaitu menghitung nilai rata-rata siswa dan persentase keberhasilan siswa dalam pembelajaran berdiskusi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berdiskusi siswa meningkat setelah menggunakan media poster berbasis nilai karakter toleransi. Persentase keberhasilan siswa dalam keterampilan berdiskusi ditinjau dari segi ketepatan dan kelancaran penyampaian gagasan, menyanggah pendapat, menyimpulkan hasil diskusi, ketepatan bahasa, dan menghargai mitra bicara tahap prasiklus adalah 42,5%, persentase siklus I adalah 70%, dan persentase siklus II adalah 100%. Peningkatan persentase tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media poster berbasis nilai karakter toleransi mempermudah siswa berdiskusi.

English Abstract

In the eleventh grade was taught about discussion skill with the purpose to solve a problem with the group. The facts showed that there were found problems in discussion learning in eleventh grade in APK 3 class of SMK PGRI 2 Kediri. The teacher did not give the text should be the discussion’s materials. Finally, the students had difficulty to deliver the ideas; the students could not oppose the others’ ideas; also, the students had difficulty to conclude the result of discussion according to the facts, data, and opinions. This research used poster as media because it was consist of work instruction, literature concerned in problems of tolerance value, and giving an assignment. Beside that, the media used based on tolerance character value because the students could develop character tolerance value in discussion. The objective of this research was to improve the students’ skill in discussion using poster media based on the value of tolerance character in the aspects of (1) the accuracy and fluency in delivering the ideas, to oppose the other’s ideas, and conclude the result of discussion, (2) language used, (3) to appreciated the partners. This research was qualitative research in classroom action research model of Hopkins. Data collection was the observation sheets, the result test of discussion activity, and the percentage of the students succeed in discussion activity. To analysis the data used descriptive qualitative analysis to calculate the mean score of the students and the percentage of the students’ success in learning discussion. The result of this research showed that the students’ skill in discussion increase after this media was applied. The students’ skill in discussion was increased for success percentage it can be shown in the accuracy and the fluency for delivering the ideas, opposed opinions, concluded the result of discussion, language used, and appreciated the partners in the preliminary study was 42.5%, in the cycle 1 was 70%, and in the cycle 2 was 100 %. The increasing showed that the poster media based on the value of tolerance character made the students easier in discussion.
