Indonesian Abstract

Permasalahan industri gula nasional adalah rendahnya produktifitas tanaman tebu sebagai bahan utama produksi gula. Salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah kesuburan lahan Indonesia yang semakin menurun. Usaha yang harus dilakukan oleh petani tebu adalah mengurangi penggunaan pupuk anorganik dan menggantinya dengan pupuk organik. Salah satu jenis pupuk organik yang potensial digunakan yaitu pupuk kompos limbah domestik, komposisi limbah yang memiliki kualitas paling baik diperoleh dari kelompok sampah yang didominasi oleh sisa makanan, sayur dan buah dengan kadar unsur N, P, K, C-organik masing-masing sebesar 3,14 %, 6.98 %, 2,14 %, 35,02 %, pH 6,9 dan C/N rasio 11. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis pupuk kompos limbah domestik terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman tebu (Saccharum officinarum L.) Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga bulan Mei 2015 di Desa Petungsewu, Kecamatan Dau Kabupaten Malang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) sederhana dengan perlakuan pupuk kompos limbah domestik, yang terdiri dari P0 (Tanpa pupuk kompos limbah domestik), P1(pupuk kompos limbah domestik 25% dosis rekomendasi), P2 (pupuk kompos limbah domestik 50% dosis rekomendasi), P3 (pupuk kompos limbah domestik 75% dosis rekomendasi), P4 (pupuk kompos limbah domestik 100% dosis rekomendasi), P5 (pupuk kompos limbah domestik 125% dosis rekomendasi). Pengamatan dilakukan menggunakan metode destruktif yang meliputi; panjang akar (cm) dan non destruktif yang meliputi; tinggi tanaman (cm), diameter batang (cm), jumlah daun (helai), jumlah anakan), dengan interval pengamatan setiap 30 hari. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan bahwa pemberian pupuk kompos limbah domestik memberikan hasil berbeda nyata terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman tebu (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan dan diameter batang). ii Perlakuan P3 (perlakuan pupuk kompos limbah domestik 75% dosis rekomendasi) memberikan hasil berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, jumlah anakan, dan diameter batang pada pengamatan 3-4 BST. Sedangkan pada pengamatan 1 dan 2 BST perlakuan P4 (perlakuan pupuk kompos limbah domestik 100% dosis rekomendasi) memberikan hasil berbeda nyata terhadap jumlah daun dan diameter batang tanaman tebu.

English Abstract

Issues of national sugar industry is the low productivity of sugarcane crop as a main ingredient in sugar production. One contributing factor is the condition of Indonesian land of diminishing fertility. Efforts should be done by sugarcane farmers are reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers and replacing them with organic fertilizer. One type of potential organic fertilizer used is compost domestic waste , waste composition that has the most excellent quality is obtained from a group dominated by junk food scraps. vegetables and fruit with high levels of N, P, K, organic-C respectively by 3.14%, 6.98 %, 2.14%, 35.02 %, pH 6.9 and C/N ratio of 11. This study aims to determine the dosage of the best domestic waste compost to plant vegetative growth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) The research was conducted in January until May 2015 in the village of Petungsewu, District Dau Malang. The method used was a randomized block design (RAK) is simple with 6 treatments and 4 replications thus obtained 24 plots experimental unit, which consists of P0 (Without compost domestic waste), P1 (domestic waste compost 25% dose recommendation), P2 (domestic waste compost 50% dose recommendation), P3 (domestic waste compost 75% dose recommendation), P4 (domestic waste compost 100% dose recommendation), P5 (domestic waste compost 125% dose recommendation). Observations were made using destructive methods (root length (cm)) and non-destructive (plant height( cm), stem diameter (cm), number of leaves (pieces), the number of tillers), at intervals of every 30-day observation. Observation data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (F test) at 5% level. If there is a real effect (F count > F table 5%), it will be followed by LSD test at 5% level to see the difference between treatment iv The observation shows that the provision of domestic waste compost give significantly different results on the vegetative growth of sugarcane (plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers and stem diameter). P3 treatment (treatment of domestic waste compost 75% dose recommendation) give significantly different results on plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, and stem diameter at 3-4 observation BST . While in the first and second observation BST P4 treatment (treatment of domestic waste compost 100% dose recommendation) provide significantly different results on the number of leaves and stem diameter sugarcane
