Indonesian Abstract

Kebutuhan hasil pertanian semakin meningkat seiring jumlah penduduk yang semakin meningkat, akan tetapi lahan pertanian semakin terbatas. Hidroponik merupakan sistem budidaya tanaman tanpa menggunakan tanah sebagai media tumbuh tanaman dengan tambahan nutrisi untuk pertumbuhan. Media tanam hidroponik tidak mengandung nutrisi, sehingga pemberian nutrisi dibutuhkan untuk budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik. Pakcoy adalah tanaman yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui dan mempelajari pengaruh komposisi nutrisi dan media tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah komposisi nutrisi Mix AB menggunakan media arang sekam yang dikombinasikan dengan pasir mampu memberikan hasil optimal tanaman pakcoy secara hidroponik. Penelitian dilaksanakan bulan Juni hingga Juli 2014 di Screenhouse kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya. Ketinggian tempat ± 540 m dpl dan suhu 23 – 26oC. Alat yang digunakan yaitu polibag, LAM (Leaf Area Meter), cetok. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu benih pakcoy, arang sekam, pasir, Mix AB, Growmore, Gandasil D, NPK. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) menggunakan 9 perlakuan komposisi nutrisi dan media tanam yaitu (N1) Media arang sekam dengan Nutrisi Mix AB, (N2) Media pasir dengan Nutrisi Mix AB, (N3) Media arang sekam dan pasir dengan Nutrisi Mix AB, (N4) Media arang sekam dengan Nutrisi NPK dan Growmore, (N5) Media pasir dengan Nutrisi NPK dan Growmore, (N6) : Media arang sekam dan pasir dengan Nutrisi NPK dan Growmore, (N7) Media arang sekam + Nutrisi NPK dan Gandasil D, (N8) Media pasir denganNutrisi NPK dan Gandasil D, (N9) Media arang sekam dan pasir dengan Nutrisi NPK dan Gandasil D, setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali dan setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 12 polibag sehingga terdapat 324 polibag. Pengamatan dilakukan pada saat tanaman berumur 9, 18, 27 dan 35 hari setelah tanam. Parameter pengamatan meliputi luas daun, jumlah daun, bobot segar total per tanaman, bobot segar konsumsi per tanaman, bobot kering total tanaman dan IndeksPanen. Data pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam (uji F) dengan taraf 5% yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui nyata atau tidak nyata pengaruh dari perlakuan. Apabila terdapat beda nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT dengan taraf 5%. Perlakuan komposisi media dan nutrisi memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata pada tanaman pakcoy terhadap semua parameter pertumbuhan yaitu jumlah daun pada umur pengamatan 18 dan 35 hst, luas daun pada umur pengamatan 9 dan 35 hst, bobot segar total tanaman dan bobot segar konsumsi pada umur pengamatan 9, 18 dan 27 hst, dan bobot kering pada semua umur pengamatan. Perlakuan komposisi media dan nutrisi memberikan hasil yang berbeda nyata pada tanaman pakcoy terhadap parameter Indeks Panen pakcoy. Komposisi media pasir dengan nutrisi NPK dan Gandasil D (N8) mampu memberikan hasil yang baik untuk tanaman pakcoy dengan sistem hidroponik.

English Abstract

The needs of agriculture product is getting higher as the number of people that also increase, however the agriculture land is getting limited. Hydroponics is plant cultivation system without soil as plant growing media but with additional nutrition for its growth. Growth hydroponics media doesn’t consists nutrition, nutrition treatment was needed for plant cultivation with hydroponics system. Pakcoy was plant that has high economic value. The purpose of research was to know and study about the influence of nutrition and growth media composition to the growth and plant production of pakcoy. Hypothesis of research was nutrition composition of Mix AB using husk charcoal combined with sand media can give optimal production for pakcoy plant using hydroponics system. This research was conducted on June – July 2014 at research farm screen house of agriculture faculty, University of Brawijaya. The place height ± 540 m dpl and temperature for 23 – 26oC. Tools that used in this research were polybag, LAM (Leaf Area Meter), and spade. Materials that used such as pakcoy seed, husk charcoal, sand, Mix AB, Growmore, Gandasil D, and NPK. The design of the research use randomize block design. Both factors were obtained 9 combination treatment as follow: (N1) Husk charcoal media with Mix AB Nutrition, (N2) Sand media with Mix AB Nutrition, (N3) Husk charcoal and sand media with Mix AB Nutrition, (N4) Husk charcoal media with NPK and Growmore Nutrition, (N5) Sand media with NPK and Growmore Nutrition, (N6) Husk charcoal and sand media with NPK and Growmore Nutrition, (N7) Husk charcoal media with NPK and Gandasil D Nutrition, (N8) Sand media with NPK and Gandasil D Nutrition, (N9) Husk charcoal and sand media with NPK and Gandasil D Nutrition. Treatment was conducted with 3 replications treatment consisted of 12 polybags, and the total of treatments were 324 polybags. Observation was conducted when the plant in 9, 18, 27, and 35 days after planting. The observation parameter included leaf area, number of leaves, fresh weight of total plant, fresh weigh of consumption plant, dried weight of total plant, and Harvest Index. The data obtained from the analysis of the observations carried out using analysis of varience (f test) with a level of 5% which has the aims to determine the effect of significant or not significant. If there was the significant effect then be continued by Least Significant Difference (LCD) test with 5% error rate. Treatment of media and nutrition composition showed signficant effect in pakcoy plant to all parameters were number of leaf in the observation age of 18 and 35 dap (days after planting), leaf area in the observation age 9 and 35 dap, fresh weight of total plant and fresh weight of consumption plant in the observation age of 9, 18, and 27dap, and dried weigh of total plant in all observation ages. The treatment media and nutrition composition gave significant effect to parameter of harvest index. Sand media with NPK and Gandasil D nutrition (N8) could be given good result for pakcoy plant using hydroponic system.
