Indonesian Abstract

Siswa kelas X di SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang mengalami kesulitan dalam menggali ide, mengembangkan ide, dan menulis cerpen berdasarkan pengalaman orang lain sesuai dengan struktur dan unsur cerpen karena teknik modelling dan penugasan yang digunakan guru kurang menarik dalam proses pembelajaran. Pada proses menggali ide, siswa hanya dibantu dengan kutipan cerpen dan satu tema. Berdasarkan hal tersebut teknik Example Non Example diterapkan supaya siswa dapat menulis cerpen berdasarkan pengalaman orang lain sesuai dengan struktur dan unsur cerpen. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis cerpen dengan teknik Example Non Example pada siswa kelas X SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang pada aspek menggali ide, mengembangkan ide, dan menulis cerpen berdasarkan pengalaman orang lain. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa kelas X B di SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes, observasi, penyebaran angket, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan deskriptif dengan mencari nilai rata-rata persentase keberhasilan siswa. Siswa dikatakan berhasil jika 89%−100% siswa mendapatkan nilai dengan kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terjadi peningkatan dari tindakan prasiklus, siklus 1, dan siklus 2 pada pembelajaran menulis cerpen berdasarkan pengalaman orang lain sesuai dengan struktur dan unsur cerpen. Pada tahap menggali ide, sebanyak 62% siswa termasuk dalam kualifikasi sangat baik dari siklus 1 dan siklus 2 sebanyak 100%. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh penerapan teknik Example Non Example serta dengan bantuan media pendukung berupa gambar berseri dan video. Pada tahap mengembangkan ide, sebanyak 55% siswa termasuk dalam kualifikasi sangat baik dan siklus 2 sebanyak 100%. Hal tersebut disebabkan oleh penerapan teknik Example Non Example serta dengan bantuan segitiga Freitag. Pada tahap menulis cerpen mengalami peningkatan, prasiklus sebanyak 37% siswa mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dengan nilai rata-rata 74,14. Siklus 1 sebanyak 56% siswa mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dengan nilai rata-rata 78,8. Siklus 2 sebanyak 100% siswa mendapatkan nilai di atas KKM dengan nilai rata-rata 91. Hal ini disebabkan penerapan teknik Example Non Example yang digunakan guru dapat membantu siswa dalam menulis cerpen berdasarkan pengalaman orang lain sesuai dengan struktur cerpen dan unsur cerpen.

English Abstract

Tenth grade students in SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang. Some of them got difficulties exploring ideas, developing ideas, and writing a short story based on another person’s experience in accordance with the structure and elements because the assignments and modeling techniques which used by teacher are not really interesting for learning process. In the prosess of exploring ideas, the students are helped only by short stories quotation and a theme. Based on previous explanation, Example Non Example technique was implemented in order to students able to write a short story based on another person’s experience on structures and elements. This research objectives included improving skill in writing short stories by Example Non Example technique on tenth grade students of SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang in aspects of exploring ideas, developing ideas, and writing a short story based on another person’s experience. This research used classroom action research. The subject of research were 27 students of class X B in SMA Ar-Rohmah Putri Malang. Data collection ranged from conducting test, observation, questionnaire, and interview. Data analysis was conducted by using descriptive by finding the average value of the percentage of students achievement.Students was successful if 80% received grades with the criteria very well and good. Based on the results of the study there was an increase of action pra-cycle, cycle 1 and cycle 2 on learning to writing a short story based on another person’s experience in accordance with the structure and elements of short stories. The stage of improvement of exploring the ideas prosess, 62% of students included in the excellent qualifications of cycle 1 and cycle 2 of many as 100%. This was caused by apply of the Example Non Example technique with the help of the form of supporting media beamed images and video. The stage improvement of developing the ideas prosess, many as 55% of students included in the excellent qualifications and cycle 2 of many as 100%. This was caused by apply of the Example Non Example techniques with the help of a triangle Freitag. The stage of writing short stories increased, pra-cycle, 37% of students scoring above KKM with an average value of 74.14. Cycle 1, 56% of students scoring above KKM with an average value of 78.8. Cycle 2, 100% of students scoring above KKM with the average value of 91. This is due to the apply of the Example Non Example techniques used by teachers to help students in writing short stories based on another person’s experience in accordance with the structure and elements of short stories.
